I realize some people do not like Rush and my guess is if you don't then you probably won't like this and all parts of the speech. If you are a conservative like me I think you will enjoy this. Way to go Rush.

I think Rush is an egocentric, washed up drug addict that really got a slap on the wrist when he should be doing serious time.  I won't listen to a word that heartless sob has to say!  I remember the last day I ever listened to him.  It was one of the days of the search for JFK jr.  All he could do was ridicule the guy and his family while they were searching for his remains.  He is a disgusting specimen of the human species.  If you can even call him that!   cussing

Wolfie,

Tell us how you really feel about Rush.... whistle

I agree with you, all the way, about Rush Limbaugh. I'm not a Democrat or a Republican, but I really feel Rush is doing a disservice to all of the American people, especially Republicans, by his radio broadcasts and speeches.

Well, Kate, since you insisted!   laughing

When I was first out of school, I swayed republican, although I was a registered independent.  Fortunately, my state now allows me to register unenrolled.  That way, I can loathe all politicians equally!   laughing

One staunch republican actually called me wishy washy because I was unenrolled in any party.  laughing   I don't understand how anyone can be dedicated to a party!  laughing  I told her that I was young, educated and intelligent.  I didn't need anyone telling me who to vote for.  I vote for the person I think will do the least amount of harm to the country.   cheers  I left her speechless!   laughing

Quote
cochlear implant is a small, complex electronic device that can help to provide a sense of sound to a person who is profoundly deaf or severely hard-of-hearing. The implant consists of an external portion that sits behind the ear and a second portion that is surgically placed under the skin (see figure). An implant has the following parts:

A microphone, which picks up sound from the environment.
A speech processor, which selects and arranges sounds picked up by the microphone.
A transmitter and receiver/stimulator, which receive signals from the speech processor and convert them into electric impulses.
An electrode array, which is a group of electrodes that collects the impulses from the stimulator and sends them to different regions of the auditory nerve.
An implant does not restore normal hearing. Instead, it can give a deaf person a useful representation of sounds in the environment and help him or her to understand speech.

As I said when I first posted if you're not conservative you won't like this and you definitely won't listen to this. I may not like certain people but I don't call them names. Oh wait I did say Olberman is psycho. Way to go Rush. Because for as many people who don't like him just as many do.

I watched this on CNN.

Rush is an entertainer... I think that he has every right to voice his opinion but I am not sure that he is doing the Republican party any favors.  Most of what I heard would appeal to the base but leaves people like me, who don't have a firm opinion based solely on party affiliation, feeling cold.

I agreed with him on a few points that he made, then he would lose me in the next breath by blaming every one of society's ills on (cue the scary music) "the LIBERALS".  I got particularly peeved when he said that Democrats wanted the war to fail.  This is probably true of some (I hope not), but that's an awfully terrible color to paint every one of them.

That was pretty good; and, of course, he has to be entertaining since people have a hard enough time staying awake for any speech not to mention people, in general, have short attention spans.

One of my local fellow grassroots guy is sporting a new t-shirt.  It says:

"You laugh at me, because I'm different; I laugh at you, because you're all the same!"

Right on! headbang

I like that t-shirt.  Smile As he said we are not the minority. I expect that if you have a liberal point of view on things then you will not like Rush. I really don't think that's a problem because he has a huge following.

He is egocentric.  Yes or no?

He is a drug addict.  Yes or no?

Where is any of that name calling.  He stole to get his drugs.  He committed criminal acts to get his drugs.  I guess that's ok because he is republican.

Actually I was thinking those were a little bit more along the lines of name calling LOL. But seriously you can call him whatever you like I don't mind because that's your opinion. I just stated I don't call anyone names and then I corrected myself and said yes I called Olberman a psycho. And being republican or democrat has nothing to do with stealing or drugs. If that were true we could find a whole lot of people who fit in that category.

I know one thing for sure.  I know from experience, having been on purcocet several times in the past, had I been able to continue taking it non-stop, I just may have done that.  It's strong, and it's definitely addictive; and once the prescription runs out, you miss the high.

That's being honest.

Wolfie you are certainly entitled to your opinion just as anyone else is. There are lots of people who will agree with you and there are lots who will not. I like what he is saying to America and conservatives feel pretty much the same way he does. It does not mean we will agree with everything anyone says but we tend to agree with people of like mindedness.

Cin, I have an honest question for you.  You are very religious.  To me, Rush is everything opposite of how I perceive you.  Can you tell me why my opinion of his is too harsh?  Convince me why he isn't, in my opinion, the moral-less, intentionally mean spirited person I perceive him to be.  Please know, I am trying to understand why he has a strong conservative religious following when, to me, he is as polar opposite to being Christian as you can get.

:)I will give it a try. First of all I believe he is religious. I know he doesn't talk about it but I think he is. I know a lot of people think I am exactly the same way you feel about Rush. Just think about the reactions I have had a couple times here. I personally like him because I agree with what he is saying about following the constitution. We have a right to the persuit of happiness and we really don't want big government. For instance the Bible states if a man doesn't work then he shouldn't eat. Now that's not being cruel that's just saying get out there and provide for your family. Wouldn't you agree that some people see me as mean because I don't believe that government should put everyone on SS. Rush has a very strong conservative belief structure and I agree with him because I think he's right. I hope this explains some things. If I were not on this forum I might be a little more abrasive and say some things people would not like but I do try to respect others beliefs.

You know, I think of you as 180 degrees from Rush.  Not in political beliefs, but in the kindness towards man realm.

I had listened to him a great deal in the past.  I have always found him rude and arrogant.  But on that one day, his lack of any sign of humanity was just evil.  He took a human tragedy and exploited and ridiculed any and every part of that man's life in the name of politics.  It was shameful and as un-Christian as you could get.  I can't stand the sound of his voice anymore.  I am not a democrat, but he could turn me into one in a heartbeat.  That's my point.  I can't ever imagine you or any Christian being cruel or heartless.  So, that's why this has me deep in thought.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me.  It doesn't change my feelings towards him, but it helps me understand a little.

I don't really know what he said that time but I do know sometimes we can all be cruel. I'm not excusing him but I know we all have bad days. And trust me people will and do call me names for my political beliefs. My husband and my children can tell you I can get down right mean to them. Christians are sometimes looked at as being better than others because we preach trying to live a good life but we are just like everyone else. It's a work in progress with all of us.

As for the voice thing I get that because there are a lot of people I feel the same way about. Obama for one. I just can't stomach him. I'm not sure we can change our opinion of someone who just rubs us the wrong way. We just try to avoid them. And in my case pray for them.
