I heard a story about the Dixie Stampede that they just locked the doors one day and told people they lost their jobs. The story was that Dolly found another location for it. Seemed like kind of a bad moral decision to just lock people out with no warning.

From what I heard, someone offered them a lot of money for the property. As soon as they sealed the deal, they immediately shut down. The employees were told when they arrived for work and were told to clean out their personal belongings. They had a proposed deal to rebuild and reopen at some mall. I'm not sure which one. Maybe, the new one up on International Drive.

Apparently, that fell through. So, just more empty buildings and less jobs. I was real bummed to find that the "Carving Station" restaurants were closed down for back taxes.
