Has everybody else notice that since the economy is going down the tubes that people's attitudes are going right with them?  I know that SO many people have so much going on in their personal lives, but it just seems to me like they are willing to take it out on so many innocent people lately!

If people are having a bad time and getting ready to say/post something hateful I wish they would just think that maybe, just maybe the person on the receiving end of said remark might just be at the end of their rope also.  We never know what people are going through or what we might say or do to actually push them over the edge.

I promise that I am not posting this to anyone that I talk to on here...I'm just blowing off some steam for a comment that was made recently to a friend that has me upset.  I promise it isn't anyone that I talk to in any way, form, shape, or fashion in these forums.  I just wish people would think before they speak...not just now, but all the time!

Isn't there a name for that? Foot in mouth disease  laughing or gabby mouth disorder  laughing I must admit I have done that in my lifetime. Sometimes people just get on my last nerve and I don't hold back. Sometimes I regret it and will go back and apologize if I think I over steeped my boundries and other times I say dang that felt good.

It just seems like it is getting out of control lately.  I was reading on a site for Muhlenberg county and a guy from Oklahoma came in and told us how whiny we all were...what???  He lives nowhere around here and we are going through what they are calling the worse natural disaster in Kentucky history and he wants to call us whiny during the middle of it.  I really wanted to tear into him, but instead I took a couple of breaths and calmed down and tried to explain just what we were going through.  Of course it probably won't make a difference, but at least I tried.

I don't know ~ maybe I am just tired and overly sensitive right now, but I just don't see trying to hurt someone's feelings.  I want to do something to help, but sometimes you just make things worse.  I don't have much of a temper...I never have.  I guess that is why I am venting to you guys...before I do get mad.  Sometimes people are just so mean and this person was just trying to help someone.  It just wasn't fair!

Gee did New Orleans folks get called whiny? I bet they didn't. Now see this makes me mad. Why do we not hear anything that's going on there? I don't have a temper either but I tell you what I would have given that guy a piece of my mind and felt good about it.

Waving I agree that it seems like people are getting shorter on patience and compassion during these hard times. And not knowing the guy in Oklahoma or what he said, perhaps what is going on in his own life right now seems alot worse than what is going on there in Kentucky. I am certainly not excusing rudeness. There is never a good reason for that.
