Name the song

then post your own lyrics...

come on now

Challenge us....

after you guess correctly, post a line to a song, and the next person who guesses correctly, posts a line to a song...and so on

here is the first challange..

If God had a name, what would it be
and would you call it to his face,
if you were faced with Him in all his glory.....

God - Tori Amos  :D

Saw her in concert opening for Alanis Morissette, I won the tickets to the concert, and won the grand prize of a meet and greet with Alanis.  She was very nice.

My turn

There's a story that my daddy tells religiously
Like clockwork everytime he see's an opening
In a conversation
'bout the way things used to be
Well I'd just roll my eyes and make a beeline for the door
I'd always end up starry eyed cross legged on the floor
Hangin' on the very word
Man the things I heard
It was harder times and longer days
Five miles to school uphill both ways
We we're cane switch raised and dirt floor poor
'course that was back before the war
Ya your uncle and I made quite a pair
Flying f-15's through hostile air
He went down but they missed me by a hair

He'd always pause right there and say.....

MONTGOMERY GENTRY - Somthing To Be Proud Of

next one -

"Well, I know sometimes you think that all you really are,
Is the woman with the kids an' the groceries in the car.
An' you worry about your hips an' you worry about your age.
Meanwhile I'm tryin' to catch the breath you take away.
Oh, an' believe me, you still do."

One Hot Mama ~ Trace Adkins

Each morning the sun shines through my window
Lands on the face of a dream come true
I shuffle to the kitchen for my coffee
And catch up on the front page morning news
Then she walks up behind me and throws her arms around my neck
Just another normal thing I've come to expect....

They say, this town, the stars stay up all night
Well, I don't know, can't see 'em from the glow of the neon light
And it's a long way, from here to the place where the home fire's burnin'

If I am correct then we will go with....

"It was getting mighty close to nice o’clock, what the hell I had one more shot.
Then I winked at a boy at the end of the bar, guess I mighta musta gone a little too far.
Cause a big ole girl walked outta the blue, 10 foot 2 with a bad attitude
Stepped right up and knocked out my tooth, guess I had it coming I deserved the due"

Gretchen Wilson ~ All Jacked Up

You say you're complicated
I say too dramatic
You think I underrate you
I think I've finally had it
With ou never having time
Cause half the time you spend
Designing brilliant tragedies
and it's becoming your disease

The morning rain clouds up my window and I cant see at all

Bowling For Soup - 1985 (funny song)

Rob Thomas - Ever The Same

note on the bowling for soup song 1985...not only is the lyrics funny, but the video is funnier (you can see it on my Myspace page! just click the link in my siggy)

now on with the game...

"Well I'll tell you one thing
If you would leave it be a crying shame
In every breath and every word
I hear your name calling me out
Out from the barrio, you hear my rhythm on your radio
You feel the turning of the world so soft and slow
Turning you round and round"
