cussing cussing cussing cussing cussing  Ask me if I am upset.... nevermind, I will just tell you that I AM UPSET.  Some of you may remember that back on 6/23 I posted that I had won tickets to the NASCAR Nationwide race in NH that was held on 6/28.  I said that the first person that IM'd me could have them for FREE, all I asked was that the taker agree to send me a check or MO for the amount to overnight them.  I was contacted by a member of SA who goes by jwr140 that he was interested.  I sent him the tickets, tracked them and they were delivered to his PO box in Mattituck NY on 6/24.  I am still waiting on my postage money.  He had told me he would send me the money as soon as the tickets arrived.  That has been over two weeks.  I have emailed him at this regular email address, plus IM'd him thru SA and he is sooo sleazy he won't even answer my emails.  At first I ranted and raved that I would NEVER be nice to anyone again by giving away something I couldn't use .... have since decided that I am not going to let this cheapo lying scum bag creep take away my faith is people.  I trust that the next time I do something like this the person will follow thru and actually reimburse me for the costs.  I should have been suspicious of this sleaze ball from the start because he had just joined SA minutes before he IM'd me for the tickets.  I figure now that he trolls sweeps sites for free things, joins the site and then sticks it to the person giving things out.  So people, no offense to newbies (we were all newbies once) but if you are giving something away and are contacted by a newbie, BEWARE!  Make sure they are a minutes old newbie.
OK thanks for hearing me out!  Am I upset ?  cussing cussing cussing cussing cussing  Not so much now that I have let it out.  Good luck to all!   His full name is Jason Rohrbach

sunny So sorry to hear that jwr140 took advantage of your good intentions and great offer. A lesson learned. We appreciate you posting this just in case he creeps in here again to try and take advantage of another member. Your karma is intact but you can bet that the bad karma jwr140 is building up will come back to bite him in the butt!  Booty
Maybe you should edit your post to include his name in case he signs up under a new member name.

im sorry that happen to you.  This member hasn't been on since the 24th of june but I will send them a pm and see if they respond. Maybe something happened.

I don't think its necessarily a newbie always that people should watch out for. You really do need to go with your gut on these things. If nothing else only trade with members on the great traders list... The only problem with that is some members don't trade  but are honest people they just haven't had a chance to get on the list yet.

Maybe its time for a bad traders list.   laughing

I really hope this doesn't stop you from offering trade's in the future.

I'm so sorry that happened to you.  love  I know how you feel.  A couple of years ago I was doing a trade with someone who was new and was a little apprehensive because he was so new.  However, another member posted that she had done a successful trade with him, right after I told him I wasn't sure.  Well, I lost a $100.00.  It sucked because it was money I had earned doing surveys, etc. and was all the money in my paypal account.  Boy, did I ever feel like a number 1 sucker!  Never heard another word from him.  I also think the member who vouched for him was in on the scam, and this was a long time member.   I decided also not to let him sour me on doing trades or buys.  The next trade I did went without a hitch.  I'm just much more careful now about who I do business with.

It's a crummy feeling when you get burned.  Especially when you were doing something so nice without compensation.  Sending tons of fairy dust for some great wins to make up for such a cruddy experience.

I do have a name for the low life creep in Mattituck NY.  It is Jason Rohrbach.  The only address I have is a PO box.  He sounded so nice ... said he and his dad were big nascar fans ... who can turn down someone who wants to treat his dad .... grrrrrrrr   But anyway, I am not going to let him sour me ... too much ... lol

It would sour me alright!  As much as I like some peeps on here I don't and won't ever do trades, sell things, give things away and ask for shipping, etc.  If I had something like a rhapsody code or a $5 Amazon code I'd give it away but that is it!  To hell with getting stiffed!  And I wouldn't give anyone my address either.  Too many posers/psychos/mentally ill peeps on the internet and sweep boards.

How coincidental can he be?  He joined minutes before you posted those free tickets?  Like LDS said, too bad you don't have his name.  Mattituck, NY sounds ghetto!  Dirty, radiation-filled water AND thieving sh!tbags.  No offense, LDS.

ETA:  Colleen, do a google search on that name.  It brings up a ton of stuff.

Colleen ~ just remember that for every scumbag out there that there are good traders also!  My first trade was with detector1 on here.  He was the best trader that you could ask for for a first trade!  I hope that if you decide to trade again that you get someone like him or the other many other ones that I have traded with!  Keep your chin up girl ~ you are a great person and good things are coming your way soon I'm sure!

I have his PO Box number which is 1155.  Thanks for his dads name.  I wasn't going to spend any money trying to contact the slime ball, but since I have his dads name maybe I will drop George a note and tell him about the nonsense his son pulled.  Maybe Daddy will straighten him out.    Hammer

What I would like to do is write Daddy Rohrbach a letter and have someone else mail it for me.  If Jason the slime ball picks up the mail at the post office he probably wouldn't give it to Daddy if he saw an Ohio postmark.  It isn't like $16.50 is all that much money, 4 gallons of gas at todays prices, it is the principal of the thing.  cussing cussing cussing cussing cussing cussing cussing

My husband does know them.  He said George is a nice guy, but the kid is a punk and has also been picked up for DWI's before.

Thanks so much lildarkside.    You know, I wouldn't even care if he did sell the tickets if he would just send me my money.  I didn't feel there was time to go thru the selling process and still get the tickets to the person in time for the race so I just decided to give them away.  I agreed to give them away and what he did with them after they were his is his business ... it is just that is shouldn't have cost me money for him to make money.  Oh well, its not a matter of life or death ....       laughing

I'm not really into the trading and selling thing either.  We usually give anything we can't use away.  You know, those contests that have different prizes, but you end up with the one prize your were hoping not to win! cry

How much does he owe you?

He only owes me $16.50. (Principal of the thing) That is the exact amount to send him the tickets by express mail.  Not a penny more.  All I asked was the exact amount of the postage.  He could tell I wasn't overcharging him cause the postage was right on the express mail envelope.

I'll have my husband tell George how much he owes you.  Jason is about 20 to 22 years old.  I have no tolerance for most of these kids these days.  I end up calling most of them punks! whistle

Gosh, what are the odds of that, LDS!   scratch

But I'm confused.  What does Jason's dad have to do with anything?  scratch  He shouldn't be responsible or made to feel responsible for Jason's terrible behavior.  I wouldn't expect George to pay for what Jason did.  Jason is an adult.  Telling his father about Jason's behavior is supposed to accomplish what exactly?  I'm sure he already knows his kid is a punk.

Colleen, sorry it happened, but I'd chalk this loss up to a lesson learned.  I would forget about trading with anyone on the internet.

Obviously, his father is not expected to pay for him or be responsible for what happened; but he is his father, and he lives under his roof, and he can talk to him about it.

Children are a reflection of their parents, and parents are usually concerned at how their children make them look especially in a town like this.

I feel it would be appropriate to let his Dad know what Jason did since he lives at home and he used his Dad as the hook ... IE:  "My Dad and I are big NASCAR fans" ... I know I won't get my money, and I agree Dad should not be the one paying it, but letting Dad know is not all bad   laughing

A town like what?

Adults are not always responsible for what their grown children do nor should they be made to feel guilty about their grown child's behavior.  The people who judge others on what their grown children do are the a$$holes.  What Jason did should not reflect on George.  Any artist who judges George for what Jason did should clean up their own backyard before before judging others.  Not to say it doesn't happen...I agree with you.  I just don't see why George needs to be bothered.  I'm 32.  I live right next door to my mother.  If I used my mom to gain tickets and then gypped you, colleen, would you want to call my mommy too?
