I came in today and my usual routine in the mornings at work is to plug in my USB thingy that has my Robo2Go on it and all my sweeps (including instants), and I go to start entering..... That useless  cussing  blocked ALL of my instants...... I can't enter ANY of them until I get off work now.... Grrrrrrrr....  Why would he crush me like that?  Oh well, guess I should be working anyways ...... right? laughing

sunny So sorry for your block, but perhaps you should have talked this over with him before you started entering at work. He probably feels like you were trying to hide it from him and perhaps taking time away from your job. Maybe you can talk to him and make a compromise on the entering. Best of Luck to you!

You know girlfriend; honey gets more flies than vinegar.   All I'm saying is that a nice Starbucks latte and a muffin might just get you those instants back!   Go get'em

champagne - from what I understand, most places do a block on any "game" site to prevent their workers from playing during working hours instead of doing their job, and sweeps sites fall in that category, so unless you can get them to "allow" (in the tools) each and every sweeps site you visit...  nono

Look at it this way - having to enter at home could change up your timing and you'll win!!!  laughing

You set up a client-host relationship between your home computer (the host) and your work computer (the client)Depends on which OS you have...for example....

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/mobility/getstarted/remoteintro.mspx

Its like, OK, you leave your home computer on when you leave-and at work you're entering through your home computer, thereby bypassing all security at work-and you won't even need your robo at work because you'll be using the one at home, only like by remote control sunny

Of course, you need to be sure this won't get you fired before trying it!

Let me see if I have this right ... you are upset because you can't enter sweeps on company time?  Wish I had a job to go to.  If I did, I don't think I would jeopardize it by entering sweeps when I should be working. But then I am not you, nor do I work where you do.  Perhaps they allow such a thing.  But anyway, hope you get it all worked out.

I know I had a job years ago that only required I do some occasional typing and answer the phone.  My boss encouraged me to read a book or whatever while I was sitting twiddling my thumbs.  Not all jobs require attention constantly.  I only WISH I knew about sweepstakes back then!! laughing  May we all having a winning week! cheers

The title of this forum is gripe and vent about anything, but I guess it depends on who you are and if you agree with the "popular" people (kinda like high school) if you can give your opinion without being made to look like you are attacking someone.  I wasn't attacking champagne at all, I just found it strange that someone would be upset because they couldn't do something that clearly isn't work related while being paid to work.  You can be sure I will never post anything on this site again.  Been here for over 2 years and still haven't figured out how to become one of the "in crowd".  Sorry if I offended anyone, I certainly didn't mean it that way.

Colleen, I promise I wasn't attacking you if you feel I was!!!  I can from a site that did that, and I would rather eat glass that become like that!!  I was really, really trying to be diplomatic, and say that maybe the circumstances were different.  Maybe I came across wrong, and if I did, than I apologize from the heart.  Honestly, I meant no disrespect to you!!  I guess I just need to be quiet and stick to the "congrats" post!! laughing  Please accept my apology if I offended you in any way! love

P.S.  You can always join me in the Loser's Lounge. cheers

Colleen,

I'm not offended, but I'm not Champagne, and I'm just a "party of one."

I had the very same thought as you when I read Champagne's gripe/vent about the IT guy. But, maybe Champagne has a job where there are "downtimes" - there's a lot of jobs out there like that. When you are busy, you are really, really busy crazy tongue, but when you are not busy, it takes all you can muster to stay awake sleepy! (I had a job like that early in career...)

I have two sons who are "IT guys." I am disappointed that Champagne is so angered by her IT guy, but  I understand it - especially when I have a glitch in my home laptop and I can't get either one of my sons to come look at it because they have jobs laughing

Come back, Colleen. I haven't posted as much as you have, but I do love SA and the forums.... cheers

No "victim" in my mind champagne, I just feel you should treat others with the same amount of respect you want - calling people out for posting their opinion is not the way to go about it.

Once you post in a forum, you open yourself to responses. Getting angry with someone who posts their opinion on the issue that you don't agree with/take offense to doesn't solve anything.

If you have a problem with a post, please notify a mod instead.

nono  Everybody in the corner now!!!!   laughing

It takes all lot of people to make up a world. Everyone has there own opions and it stinks sometimes when you cant hear someones tone, or see the expressions they make. So people can take things the wrong way.

I work for my dad, and used to work 3-4 hours a day, (when my daughter was in school longer) now she is just in for 3 hours. So I just work 1-2 hours a day. I go in and file papers, and take bank deposits. There is downtime at the job, where im just twiddling my thumbs, so I play solitare. IF We had a fast internet I probably would do my sweeps. But my dads warehouse is far out, where the power lines stink. So theres not an internet connection. Except phone, and it takes way too long.
