About a week ago, I noticed a little cut in the middle of my daughter's foot. She is 4. Well I didn't think anything of it. She likes to wear sandals alot. Well tonight she was climbing on the table, to see my neice, and my dad started yelling about her foot. I looked at her foot, and it had a circle the size of a dime, was red, and in the middle was a little puss, and the cut. So he starts freaking about gang green, and how her foot will have to be cut off if it doesnt get better. Real harsh. Well my mom helped me clean it, and put neosporin on it, and a bandaid. Once we got home I gave her a shower, and it looked like it was open, draining a little. What else should I do though. I will def take her to camp in socks and shoes. But they do go swimming, etc. So she might have to be barefoot at some times. My dad did call me later and apologize for being so harsh. But it is a good thing he noticed it, cause I sure didnt. Has anyone had this problem what is the best way to fix it?

Keep an eye on it.  She might need some antibiotics.  A quick call to her doctor might be best.

I hope she is doing better.

Tiff:
Don't freak out over it.  She probably has a little infrection in it.  If it has a fever around the wound I would maybe take her in to get a round of antibiotics.  I have two girls 11 and 14 and I REALLY hate going to the doctor.  There aren't too many things us moms can't cure with neosporin, benydrl and a humidifier!!!!!!!!!  (and don't forget duct tape)

It is fine and you are a good mom.  The thing to look for is a red mark going up her leg in a line.

You did everything, and I am sure if your dad did not see it...you would have eventually.

Kids....the really know how to turn our hair grey..don't they??

My mom's solution was soak it in a dish tub of HOT epsom salt water and put a salve bandage on it! It works! I had blood poisoning from sores on my feet twice when I was a kid and the Doctor said to do that each time!

yea this cleared up a while ago, lol I forgot this post was still here. I ended up soaking it in warm water a bunch of times, usually neospirn and bandages. Worked great.
