Was wondering if anyone is heading out to the sweepstakes convention (I believe its in) NH.  Thought it was suppose to be around this time.  Wish I could go.  Maybe next year it will be closer.  I was hoping someone would let us know how much fun they have.

(NOTE: The first few posts refer to the 2009 convention, which is over. Keep reading for 2010!)
(note added 10/2/09 for clarification)

I was there. It's my first one, even though I've been sweeping for 20 years. Never heard of it until last year.  We had several sessions, morning, afternoon, and dinner time. Some lasted past 9:30pm, I think. There were some speakers, but, it was mostly just giving away prizes! There was a banquet, a buffet at the baseball game, and a pancake breakfast.  Prizes were given at every session. I won a Garmin GPS, a HP photo printer, 120 stamps, and some smaller things.  There were a lot of giveaways to everyone, including a very nice and sturdy tote bag, a caribiner (sp?), a water bottle (use the caribiner to clip the bottle to the tote bag), a $30 board game, similar to Monopoly, but, with New England properties, 3 razors, men's body wash, pens, pencils, oh, gee, I can't remember what all I came home with.  I had to UPS all the stuff home as my suitcase was full and I couldn't handle another box or suitcase with my carry-on and laptop.  I received a nice little clock from Sweepstakes Advantage.  I remembered it just now because it beeped!

I didn't stay at the hotel with the convention center. I stayed a 1/2 mile away at the Hilton. This hotel offered shuttle service at any hour to the convention.  There was a school bus type shuttle that came by.  I only saw it once. I believe it was the one supplied by the convention.

It's going to be in Minneapolis next year in September.  The probable one for 2011 is going to be in Indiana. I'm sorry, but, I can't remember if she said South Bend or Ft. Wayne.  There was so much going on that I couldn't get all the details.

It was well presented and, I think, a good quality event.

Minneapolis. YES! That's where my sister lives. Free place to stay! I live in Wisconsin now. I wanted to go but never really wanted to have to travel far. This is perfect!

If anyone wants a tagalong broke companion to take with you .....I am available that is if I am well enough and I am sure you just want me with you! ROFL... my expenses must be paid for by you as I have not won any money to travel on. I am from the south so if nothing else I could be a small talk center piece because everyone will be saying "Just say sumpin!" so they can laugh at the way I talk. One more thing you must pick me up. LOL. Now who could resist this offer. No serial anythings ( for my safety sake} except sweepers apply.

If I was going I'd definitely take you Halandt.  I read your other post in the Big Win and I was touched and thought if I ever made a road trip I'd do it with Halandt.

Wish I had known about this as I'm just one state away from NH.   cry  And I love giveaways and convention freebies!

Can't possibly afford to go so far away next year.  Maybe it will be in Boston some year!   Smile
