Things are finally starting to get back to normal for us since coming home from the Super Bowl. What an experience!! We had a 4-room suite at the Mutiny Hotel in Coconut Grove complete with full-size fridge & dishwasher. Hubby wondered why the fridge wasn't stocked with food & beer if it was such a "full" kitchen. I said I didn't want to leave the dishwasher since we don't have one at home! We went to South Beach on Fri. and attended a winners' reception that night at the Grand Bay hotel. We even met a fellow SA sweeper (Hi luge35!!!) and it was fun to hear how the others had lucked into their wins. Sat. we went to the NFL Experience next to the stadium which was a total blast. They had a bunch of different interactive activities, cool displays, and we got an autograph from Travis Henry of the Tennessee Titans. Then came THE DAY!!! I don't think I have ever been so completely soaked in all my life but we had excellent seats and all Hubby & I could do was look at each other & :D since we were actually at the SUPER BOWL! Prince at half time was a lot better than I expected & it was an exciting game. Found out later that I sat next to an ex-Colts player during the game. (Wish I would have actually believed him & gotten a picture but figured almost anyone could say they used to play & I'd have no way of knowing if it was true or not.) We have been so blessed with good fortune in ways other than my winning sweepstakes that it just seems like icing on the cake. Everyone here at SA is so very supportive, helpful & friendly and I just want to thank everyone and wish you all the best of luck for winning your heart's desire. I just can't wait to see what comes next!

I can still hardly believe it happened and that we were actually there. I also have a few photos to share but am not sure how to do it here. Didn't take as many pics as we usually do when we do anything. (Camera nuts here---have countless photos of the barn swallows that nest on one corner of our house each year & other assorted pics that no one else would care about.) It was raining so dang much we didn't want to ruin the camera. Still got some good ones of half time from my trusty phone (cost less than the camera so didn't matter as much) and lots of cool ones from the NFL Experience the day before. Oh yeah, the face is STILL hurting from the grin! :D

After over 25 years of sweeps I finally won a grand prize. The wife and I and two friends will be going to Tuscany Italy for a week's stay in a villa. All airfare, three chef provided dinners, 5 1/2 days private chauffeur and multiple area tours including Florence. The sweeps was the A&E "Just Got Made" Sweepstakes ending January, I believe. We're excited ... ERV $32,000. Keep on trying

Dear airengineer,
CONGRATULATIONS!!! It sounds like you really deserved this one. I'm amazed that you've been sweeping for 25 years! I remember this contest - this was a BIG ONE. I entered this one every day! I've been sweeping for about 4 years, and I've won 2 grand prizes. The first one was a trip for two to California from Sony Pictures, and I took my son with me because it had a private tour of a studio that did special effects and animation for movies (this is what my son is going to school for in the fall). The second Grand Prize was last September from Lifetime Television, and I won $10,000 to Bed, Bath, and Beyond (I've spent most of it, but I still have about $1,000 left). I hope you and your family have a FABULOUS TIME!! Take LOTS of pictures!

:smt010 I didn't want to come home! Just got back from Bridgetown, Barbados today. Was the Minnesota winner in the Malibu's A Taste of the Island contest. 4 days/3 nights actually turned out to be 2.5 days/3 nights in Barbados due to flight time from Minneapolis, but it was still fun! Included was airfare, transport to and from the airport and accommodations at the Hilton on Needham's Point.
I brought my mother (my hubby doesn't fly) and we had a blast! Bajans are very friendly!
We had to pay for our own meals, sight-seeing and what-not. But that was okay because otherwise I never would have seen Barbados!! The US dollar is 1 for 2 Barbados dollars. ZR vans are cheap to get around at about 75 cents US funds. But, they cram about 15 people in one minivan and blast music so it's probably not for everyone. Quite an experience! Oistens fish fry is a must! Friday nights are the most popular, but we went on Saturday and it was still a decent sized crowd. The Boatyard is an excellent place to party the night away with locals and tourists alike. During the day they have fun water toys, but we didn't partake, lol, were only there for drinks on Sunday. I thought The Gap ( a few block area of bars and restaurants with a reputation for being a party hot spot) was overrated. Also we took a Tiami Catamaran cruise. Oh my gosh, that was the best! They serve a light breakfast, you swim with the turtles, swim above a coral reef and a sunken ship. A full lunch was served and also there is an open bar.
