I am turning 50 tomorrow and having a hard time with it.  Is this normal?  My husband turned 50 in August and seemed to be okay.  I have been crying  all week and not feeling so well when I think about this.  No one close to me knows my feelings on this.  Please let me know that this is normal and if not what can I do.

 

  I'm also 54. I remember turning 50. It did sting a little, but I soon got over it. It's just a number. Join AARP and enjoy the extra benefits! Now I'm looking forward to being 55 as alot of restaurants have perks for the over 55 group!
 I just look at the fact the most of my family lives to between 90 and 100 so I still have half my life left.
 Z is right! Start a new hobby, do something that you have always wanted to do but have put off, stay active, enjoy life and make the most of everyday!

I am turning 50 next month and if it weren't for the hot flashes things would be great  I think being this age is pretty good because I believe we have more wisdom and there is a sense of knowing who you are. I think we become more comfortable with our bodies and we are proud to be women. Well at least I feel this way. Celebrate being a woman and look forward to the future. I like that I am comfortable in my own skin.

Have a happy 50th. and it's good to know there are lots of us mature women out there. To all the red haters.

Also I'm with the other ladies do something different. A hobby or maybe something you always wanted to do but didn't have the nerve. When I turned 45 I got a belly button piercing. I'm trying to decide if I want a tattoo this year lol. Although on this one I may not do it.

Personally I've hated every birthday since 35.  Don't know why really, they just seem to make me sad.

Now, for me, at 43 (almost 44) I am way way past mid-life!  And feeling very much like it.
