Okay this is a hoot.
Thought I would die laughing.

I got one of those, “You won $250,000.00” scam emails.  All the usual stuff – send us all your information.

Here comes the funny part . . . . . . . . . .

Wait for it . . . . . . . . . .

The email ends with this warning:

WARNING!
You must keep strict confidentiality of your Prize Award claims to yourself until your money is successfully handed over to you to avoid disqualification that may arise from double claims. Yahoo Awards Team shall not be held liable for any loss of funds arising from the above mentioned.

I don't know how people fall for this stuff.

Yeah, just OPENING an email can infect you!!!  nono

I was told to NEVER have the preview pane (in Outlook) on:

if you have the preview pane on in Outlook, or Outlook Express, you DON'T have to open the email to get infected - so you need to close that ASAP.

Click on View, then Layout. UNcheck the preview pane box and hit OK (if you hit apply, you will still have to hit OK)

I always right click questionable emails, and select PROPERTIES to see who it came from and the body of the email before i block the sender/domain.

99% of the spam I get is automatically dumped into the trash & I add the new ones so they will go in there too.

And yes, I got the "someone wants you dead" spam & knew it HAD to be spam since nobody knows me well enough to hate me THAT much, lmao!!!  laughing crazy tongue whistle
