I won a maytag washer and dryer from the clorix instant win sweepstakes!!!! I just got the affidavit in the mail today. I have never done one but it seems like I just get it noterized and sent back asap to claim my prize. It talks about the sales tax, how does that work??

Depending on the value of the prize you may have to claim it in your taxes. Congrats on your 1st big win!
 
On the affidavit you sent back, it usually askes for ssn. In January of 2011 you should receive a tax form from them. Some times the companies screw up and do not report it. I won a 32 inch HDTV and although I filled out affy, the company never reported it. By law everything valued at $600 or more is to be reported by the company that is giving away the prize. However, if the company doesn't report it why should you.
 
Awesome win congrats :headbang:.You will most likely get a 1099 next tax season if you didnt get one prior to claiming the prize.But you shouldn't have to pay much if anything if you normaly get a decent refund .I won 2 tickets for Bi plane rides in 02 worth $1000 but it didnt really affect my tax return that year. Thats so awesome! I just started doing this and was just curious if you knew you won when you played the game or did you just get the paperwork in the mail? Congrats!
