SA is a 'Gambling Site'?

I've tried to contact you through your "Contact Us" feature but for some reason it wouldn't go through, so I'm using the Forum.

I thought you might like to know that the San Joaquin (CA) Valley Library System has just declared that Sweepstakes Advantage is an illegal gambling site and has blocked access to it by users of its internet computer system. I noticed it today and I asked the librarian about it, and she said that the library system officials have recently come out with a list of websites to which they have blocked access for various reasons, and your site is one of them because they declared it to be a "gambling site".

Thank you for this information. I will try to bring it to Ken's attention.

As you know, SA is not a gambling site. SA is a sweepstakes listing site. Huge difference!

The school system here does it also ( so my sis cannot access site there ) ..as does many travel agencies ( of which one of our editors work for ) so is unable to access SA while at work.* They also cannot access Facebook ! I bet that puts a damper on the ol' work day. LOL. Most businesses have a filter device. The device uses definitions that update similar to virus definitions. Some admins may also add specific websites like Facebook for other reasons, whether it be to cut users off from a particular source of wasted time, or because the volume of traffic negatively impacts more legitimate business. Blocking website access allows them to limit the time spend on nonwork-related websites, such as social networking, gambling, games and pornography.

It also could be that some of the sites listed here at SA use words that say "play our games for a chance at a prize". Even though they are not gambling sites, some filters may use these terms to block SA.
