Enter to Win Notable Women of Portland by Tracy J. Prince. The story of Portland, Oregon, like much of history, has usually been told with a focus on male leaders. This book offers a reframing of Portland's history—starting from 10,000 years of Native American women, to pioneer women, to women of the Progressive Era, WWI, WWII, and post-war women, with additional chapters on Women in the Arts and Women in Politics. Many women made their mark and radically changed the Oregon frontier, including Native Americans Polly Johnson and Josette Nouette; pioneers Minerva Carter and Charlotte Terwilliger; doctors Marie Equi, Mary Priscilla Avery Sawtelle, and Bethina Owens-Adair; artists Eliza Barchus and Lily E. White; suffragists Abigail Scott Duniway, Hattie Redmond, and Eva Emery Dye; lawyer Mary Gysin Leonard; Air Force pilot Hazel Ying Lee; politicians Barbara Roberts and Margaret Carter; and authors Frances Fuller Victor, Beverly Cleary, Beatrice Morrow Cannady, Ursula Le Guin, and Jean Auel. These women, along with groups of women such as "Wendy the Welders," made Portland what it is today.

Enter to Win Rent Party: Weekend Nights in Memphis and the Story of Southern Music
by Robert Gordon. The fabled city of Memphis has been essential to American music--home of the blues, the birthplace of rock and roll, a soul music capital. We know the greatest hits, but celebrated author Robert Gordon takes us to the people and places history has yet to record. A Memphis native, he whiles away time in a crumbling duplex with blues legend Furry Lewis, stays up late with barrelhouse piano player Mose Vinson and sips homemade whiskey at Junior Kimbrough's churning house parties. A passionate listener, he hears modern times deep in the grooves of old records by Lead Belly and Robert Johnson.
Enter to Win Numinosity: A Fractured Memoir by Linda Morganstein. Numinosity: A Fractured Memoir is a book audaciously modeled on the iconic Life magazine. It consists of six chapters, each an issue of a photo journal called Numinosity. The content is based on pulse-raising events of the times and Morganstein's eccentric family history, woven into a fictionalized memoir. The issues feature articles written by invented personalities, all played by the author. In addition, she creates all of the advertisements for pretend products, making fun of consumerism with fond ambivalence. Like the artist Cindy Sherman, Morganstein uses her insecurities and swagger to make a larger point about the relationship of humor and tragedy in art, emphasizing that the key to liberating oneself from the past is embracing memory and creating a tragicomic story from it.
