Sunday night was a good night of television for me.\u00a0 First, Food Network Star announced the winner and it was the person I have been cheering for since week one.\u00a0 Congratulations, Jeff Mauro, Sandwich King!\u00a0 I then switched channels and caught the premier of TLC's “High Stakes Sweepers”.\u00a0 I can already foresee several posts about this!<\/p>\n
So far, I can see why the folks they picked are labelled as “Extreme” as they do spend more time entering sweepstakes<\/a> than the average person.\u00a0 However, no one has been certifiable.\u00a0 The first person profiled, Ron, did say that he gave up his job to devote all his time to sweepstakes.\u00a0 He enters the best sweepstakes<\/a> website for 8-10 hours a day, so it essentially IS his job now.\u00a0 The fourth person, Carolyn, is also a career sweeper.\u00a0 Both of them concentrate on online entries.\u00a0 Carolyn does go a step further by raiding the neighbors recycle bins for Coke cap codes that she can redeem at MyCokeRewards.\u00a0 She didn't mention the site, but it was pretty obvious.<\/p>\n Personally, I would not recommend quitting your job or trashpicking.\u00a0 However, I do agree with some of the other High Stakes Sweepers advice.\u00a0 Ron's best advice was what our own Amy always says – enter lots of sweepstakes,<\/a> then forget about it and move on.\u00a0 Carolyn's best advice was to point out that you do have to pay taxes on your wins,<\/a> and should concentrate on prizes that you truly want and are willing to pay the taxes on.<\/p>\n All of TLC's High Stakes Sweepers are like us – enthusiastic about sweepstakes<\/a> and always hoping for that next big win!<\/p>
