&#8220;random&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>If you make\u00a0a habit of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweepsadvantage.com\/sweepstakes-contests-blog\/great-sweepstakes-for-people-that-love-to-read\/\">reading sweepstakes<\/a> rules, you know the sponsors will tell you that a winner is selected by random draw.\u00a0 The big companies secretly select random <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweepsadvantage.com\/sweepstakes-contests-blog\/the-proof-in-sweepstakes-wins\/\">winning sweepstakes<\/a> times.\u00a0 If you're the first person to log in after the desginated tame, you're a winner.\u00a0 It would be nice to know when those randomly selected times will hit, but it is\u00a0closely guarded secret.\u00a0 Wait!\u00a0 Don't I have to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sweepsadvantage.com\/sweepstakes-contests-blog\/play-games-and-spin-to-win\/\">spin the wheel or play\u00a0a game<\/a> to see if I won?\u00a0 No.\u00a0 The wheel will spin and the graphics will blaze, but it all comes down to getting lucky and logging in at the right time.<\/p>\n<p>Smaller websites and blogs use more informal methods of picking a winner.\u00a0 One way they do this is to use a site like Random.com.\u00a0 With this site, you can tell it how many entries you have total, and it will randomly select a winning number from among those entries.\u00a0 The blogs have also started using a sort of random selector called Rafflecopter.\u00a0 No matter which method the websites use, they all try to find fair, unbiased ways to randomly select\u00a0a winner.\u00a0 Unless you're talking about true contests, but that's another <a title=\"sweepstakes\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sweepsadvantage.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sweepstakes<\/a>
