Lip gloss causes skin cancer?

That's interesting!

I've had my lips burn because of going out on the boat while wearing shiny lip gloss. Not fun and a lesson learned! I always wear lip balm with SPF while in the sun so I hope that's enough to be sufficient.

And no, not a chance of me tossing out my 30+ lip glosses!

Nope! Thinking back over the years, eggs caused cancer, tap water caused cancer, milk caused cancer............ I don't think they really missed much of anything.

We don't have to worry about any of that here on Long Island. Just living out here causes cancer! Our ground is so radiated from military dumping during the WW's, we glow at night! :crazytongue:

OMG LIDARKSIDE! I wouldn't try planting a veggie garden if I were you!!

We don't! This guy's wife we know will only buy organic and purchases her vegetables from a local organic farm, and I said to him "so, radiated is okay as long as it's organic?". :scratch: :crazytongue:

I've only lived out here five years, but we plan on moving. We don't want our children growing up here, and I am concerned for my husband who lived out here all of his life.

You have no idea how many people out here have cancer, leukemia, etc. Before moving out here, I only knew three people who died of cancer--one was my uncle who lived on Long Island. When I moved out here I was shocked at how many people had cancer or died of cancer. My husband's mother included. It's real scary. I know there are hotspot towns here and there throughout the country, but the whole Long Island was deemed a hotspot!

I can imagine!! I was thinking that the cancer rate was probably off the charts.

I agree. I'd fear for my children as well. And your hubby...he's OK?

I don't know how you feel about Vermont, but according to the locals in the small town we lived in, Vermont has some of the cleanest air, water, and soil in the U.S. In fact, for the few short months we lived there, my youngest son's allergies cleared up completely. We've been back in Ohio for a little over 7 months now and he still hasn't had to take his prescription allergy medicine(Loratadine).

My husband is fine at the moment, but the sooner we get out of here the better. As much as I love Vermont, and it is beautiful up there, I can't live in that much wilderness. I'd go batty. I used to ski up at Stowe every weekend. We've just recently started thinking of Florida, but I will be horrendously homesick for the North if we do--no New York City, no Amish country, no snow...... :cry:

We have huge Amish communities around here!! It is so neat to go and see lines of buggies going down the street! Think Tennesse though ~ it still snows, they have Amish, and it is one of the prettiest places there is! I just love it there!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I forgot what I was posting about ~ lol!! I won't be giving up my lipgloss...I use one with SPF in it also!!
Yeh, there's Amish communities elsewhere; but everything we have up here is BIGGER! :crazytongue: :headbang: :crazytongue:
Lancaster, PA area is the biggest Amish community!
:tongue2:
Oh, and our casinos are bigger too! :whistle:
:tongue2:
...and my pop can beat your pop up! :popcorn:
No kidding?!! We lived 40 miles from Stowe(in the Northeast Kingdom area. My SIL works there. We used to take the kids there for alpine sledding
That's not us but I'll dig up some pics of us doing it. I was always the last one down the mountain and I HATED the ski lift LOL We never did ski. The two times we lived there were very brief and we've never lived there during the winter months.
And yes, I can't live anywhere that doesn't have snow! My FIL just left for Germany today so he called us last night. Said they still had about 1-2 inches of snow on the ground. I was like WTH? I mean, I love snow but them Vermont winters are WAY too long!
I've been on those alpine slides at Action Park in New Jersey. During a part of the year, they open the toll road at Stowe; and you can drive up to the top of the mountain. It's very pretty for the fall foliage. We stayed at the Green Mountain Inn a couple of years ago and hit up Ben & Jerry's, Vermont Teddy Bear (ours has to go back to the hospital), Lake Champlain Chocolates, Cabot (wow, the samples they have out), and The Vermont Country Store.
Your father must be up in the northern mountain area. My family is just getting rain, and it's in the 60's where they live. We have to go back; we need more Chocolate Sweepstakes & Giveaways! :crazytongue:
I've always wanted to visit the Amish community up there! I know it is lovely up there also!
I know you have bigger casinos than Tennesse...they don't have any ~ yet!
Well, your Dad might could beat up my Dad, but my Momma could beat up your Mom!!
Well, LIDARSIDE's dad could whoop my dad and Ping, your mom could definately whoop my mom.
But I can whoop both of ya's :whistle:
All you would have to do to me is hit me in the nose and I would go down ~ lol!! Can't take hits in the nose!
Woot! Cat fight!
If I was straight, I'd say it should be settled in a vat of jello :error: :whistle:
Don't put too much into those studies. Most times, they are paiud by someone who is wanting to prove something.
I remember the infamous wine study that said that red wine was good for you, drink it every day and it will help your heart. Who sponsored it? The wine growers paid for it! lol
Cat fight? No way! I don't scratch and bite! I punch, and my husband can attest to that! No, it wasn't him I punched! :laughing:
I have seen woman fight, it can be NASTY.
My sister told me that one time at the Woodbridge mall in NJ during christmas, there was a very well dressed african american woman in a mercedes awaiting a spot. As the car pulled out, two teenage boys pulled into the spot.
They got out and the one boy said a very nasty comment to her (using htat word).
She got out, took off her fur coat.. and punch him so hard, he went down!
Then got back in hte car and drove away. :laughing:
Merry christmas! ROFL
My brother, who is 4 1/2 years older than me, taught me to fight and flip people over! He ticked me off once, and I gave him an upper cut and broke his front teeth. He's much bigger than me, so I won't tell you what he did to me afterwards! :cry:
My mother still brings up now and then how she used to hear about me beating up the boys and putting them into the wall!! :laughing:
