    Something for the hosts?

What would you bring to a party, assuming you don't know the hosts too well and there's tons of food? Would a household/gift item be ok?

    Bottled water

Who drinks bottled water? I never do, the tap works for me. This is an interesting article that tells about the industry, and the tactics used to get you to spend a lot on an almost-free resource. I also brew my own iced tea from tea bags, and make my own soda with a soda maker I won.

    Neverending household repairs

My mother didn't do much to maintain the house while she was alive, and when she passed away I got a fixer-upper, but I didn't know how bad it would be, or how expensive. The latest discovered repair costs $1,500! Help, I'm being leeched! I feel like a house jinx! :cussing: The latest...

Subway Coupons are NOT Being Accepted

I went into the place to get the free veggie chips, and the two foreign guys looked over the coupon and wouldn't take it. They also never saw it before. Funnier even, there was an ad for the sweepstakes on the countertop.

    Gas calculator online

This page has a nifty mileage/cost calculator that computes the cost of traveling between cities. Driving coast to coast would cost me about $355 using my gas sippin' Yaris. Yay! :sunny:

    Email entries change request

I like to enter for DVDs, and as we all know there are a lot of sites that don't use php, so you have to manually enter the info into your emailer. It would be great if the format of the SA sweeps listing page was html and we could have clickable links that would load our email programs with the...

    Good Shrekin' Today

I got the Shrek prize pack finally. :sunny: Also, I got a Swarovski crystal Christmas tree hanging snowflake, ARV $70. I have no idea where this came from. Anybody know a contest that was giving these out? It's GORGEOUS, but I honestly can't use it so I have it listed at the FSOT forum.

    eBay

Anybody still selling on eBay? I used to sell a lot, but no more, as it's gotten to be a very nasty place for small sellers. They force you to take Paypal and pay credit card fees, their closing value fees have gone up, and soon they'll have a policy in place where sellers can't leave feedback...

Prize delivery trip won in Dec.

In Dec., I won a $1,600 travel credit from Alaska Airlines (administered by ePrize) and still haven't seen anything of the prize. After emailing them in early March, they said to wait a couple more weeks and be patient. Fine, still no prize. I'm getting a bit worried because according to the...

    Parking tickets!

:cussing: I got a parking ticket in a lot for not parking head in. Fine: $30! There were plenty of empty spaces, so I pulled HEAD IN into a spot and got a ticket for it. You know, two empty spots, pull into the second spot so you can drive right out. They'd rather me back out into something. I...

    Hearst Publications dirty tricks

They keep sending me emails saying my subscription request is being processed. I got two of them from Cookie magazine. I checked my passcard and it's clearly marked "no" but they keep trying to shove the magazines at me. Over the past few months I have sent back at least 20 bills marked...

What are your favorite self-help books?

I read both of these, and think they're great books with practical advice: The Millionaire Next Door The Luck Factor The second book is particularly good for sweepstakers, and some of the insights in the book are things we say at the forum. The first one is something that everybody should...
