If you live near LA and win an LA experience-related prize you might be able to decline just the hotel/flight portions of it and have the ARV of those aspects subtracted. I've heard of some sponsors agreeing to do that for people before.

I don't enter for trips (or physical prizes I'm not too excited about/useful) atm either due to tax considerations. Maybe at some point.

Mine (Safeway) did require a manager's approval but after I said what the coupon was she was just like "Yeah, that's fine" and it was relatively painless. One's mileage will probably vary depending on their particular store / employee.

They aren't scams, but the odds are very long. I'd guess longer than the lottery (tho PCH is free to play). My father and grandfather entered for decades (through the mail) and never won anything from them. I've done so for about a decade and won $20 thus far (but hope springs eternal, haha)...

To my understanding, you can keep entering for the grand prize but can only win 1 instant prize for the sweeps. I ended up scoring a "Movie Night Kit" in this one with a $70 ARV... tho I have no idea what that entails exactly, so kinda excited to find out what it's all about later.

The BHG sweeps seem to have shrunk again... now with $2,500 prizes for two months. Any lower in the future and I probably won't bother with them.

They were all listed as ending 1/31, but I did happen to notice about 2 weeks back that the rules stated 2/29, so I believe it was just a mistake when first uploaded and is now correct.
