On the email thing, a couple of years ago, I won 25K from Unilever/Promise Essentials of Life sweeps, and only got an email (from eprize I think). I sent the stuff in and followed up with an email to them later to confirm they had approved it. I agree, I thought because I only got an email it was only spam, and was surprised that was the only method used to notify me....kind of risky. :laughing:

Wow - an email to announce the winning of $25,000! Did the email contain downloadable forms to have notorized? Congratulations on your win. I am now very carefully checking all my emails.

If I remember correctly, all the necessary paperwork/instructions could be obtained from links/text in the email (rules, affy, etc.) You bring up some interesting points....things I think about often.... :laughing: Like how things would be handled if something got lost in the mail, or maybe the company that held the sweep went broke and could not pay a big win, or if a big win was an annuity and you had to move later and could not contact the company anymore, etc, etc (I guess the bank would take care of that one).
My check came in a fed-ex like envelope from UPS, and the bank wanted me to wait awhile before trying to access any of the funds to make sure it was legit...guess they had people bring in phony checks before.

I won the I-Village/Kraft Kitchen Makeover - $5000 in appliances and was notified by E-Mail with the affy and other forms in the E-Mail in Sep. A couple of weeks ago I got a Fed-Ex from Sanford/Office Max for a PS3 worth $590 with the forms enclosed. I guess everybody does it different.
