first let me say, wow!!!!. I think 17 is a little much. there is no way you can give every kid the attention they need when you have that many. not to mention the expense of having that many. and they are all homeschooled. She must be the most patient women on the planet. I couldnt home school my three. well, I could but it wouldnt be good for any of us.
Love this little tidbit --- has been pregnant for 126 months — or 10.5 years — of her life.

I think this woman is absolutely nutters...my grandmother had 15 children..and believe me she has always said if they would have had decent birth control when she was having kids she sure the HELL would NOT have had 15 LOL...I did watch this family's special on tv as they were building their huge new house...I sure would like to know what kind of job her husband has that they can afford all those kids and that beautiful HUGE house!

All I can say is WOW! There is NO way I could ever have that many kids. I have three, and they are ages 6 1/2, 5, and almost 3, and they are driving me insane this summer. I am so glad that school starts in two weeks, that way I will only have one at home during the day! Plus, all the stress that woman has put her body through...It has got to have an effect on her, if not now, then it will in the future. I mean, I do credit them for being able to handle that many. But I also wonder how they do it financially.

It is pretty unbelievable. I love my three. I wouldnt take a million dollars for any of them and I wouldnt pay 5 cents for another one.

:sunny: I think it is wonderful! There is nothing better in this world than to have a close knit family. It's great that in this day that there are people out there that have so much love to give so many children. The tax benefits wouldn't hurt either.

I saw the title of this thread and knew it had to be about the Duggars. Dig around in the search engines a bit and you'll find some interesting comments. Some folks praise them for the family commitment. Others slam Jim-Bob for making a living off promoting his family, and Michelle for setting the older girls to work raising their siblings while she has more babies. Guess time will tell whether the kids transition well into adulthood, or spin out of control when they have to stray outside the family circle.

I watched several of these specials. Most recently the one where one of the networks Discovery or TLC decorated that new home. It is beautiful.

I was telling my sister about this story today and commenting on how they basically teach the kids to be mini parents. They are each given responsiblities and they all do them. They socialize with people of like faith, so the kids are not likely to roam to far from home, or the up~bringing they have encountered.

What amazes me is that they are already thinking about more. I guess it might be just me, but I would want my child to think that his/her birthday was special ~ not that I was thinking to adding to the brood. Sit back and enjoy that child for awhile ~ geez!!!

Well my opinion is as long as they are raising them and not mooching off the system to raise them then more power to them. As long as they love them and provide them with what they need then that is all that matters.

I would be insane if I had that many children. I just don't have the patience to deal with that many in a household. I have to have my alone time which includes no children and no hubby every once in a while. :sunny:

All I can say is GEEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. Ease up for crying out loud. Of course women are supposed to know the joy of child birth but we are not like animals and supposed to have litters!!!!!!! I'm betting she will be in depends before her 45th birthday!!!!!! Isn't he in politics? I don't know why I think that but I also saw the special on Discovery channel and I was thinking that he was in politics in some way. My great grandmother's maiden name was Dugger. I could be related. I wonder what Christmas is like at this house. :crazytongue: 17 :crazytongue:It's just simply to much for me to wrap my brain around!

He was at one time ~ now he isn't anymore. They must make a nice living somehow ~ tv or something is being very good to them :)
