asking for votes

Can I ask for votes for a picture I posted on Facebook? I submitted it to a contest on SA and it was accepted . I posted it directly from the voting page of the acceptance page to Facebook and all anyone has to do to vote is find my picture and click on it. I would describe the picture by subject and my name. Can I do that?
