I can't believe sweepsadvantage is posting spam links. I found some in the DALIY sweeps section. For example these ones

We verify all claims of spam with siteadvisor.com a trusted 3rd party. Have you already done this?

Spam is defined as email you either didn't subscribe to or email that you cannot unsubscribe from? Is this the case?

what I actually meant is...
Those are not really contests. We have to complete sponsor offers (If we register in those sites we get a lot of spam) to get the prize stated.

I don't think you are required to complete the sponsor offers for entry into the sweepstakes.

It is time consuming to answer yes and no to all the offers...

I don't think you will get spammed unless you opt-in and don't opt out.

No, there is no requirement to opt in for anything. These are very time consuming, but legitimate sweeps. If you don't have the time, just skip them.

my first email address, I noticed i would get alot of spam, and i was entering PCH. then i switched over to a different email address a couple of years later and everything was fine at first, i wasnt' entering the PCH contests, then i started entering the PCH contest and i started receiving alot of spam emails.

also, the past 1 1/2 months i have received a ton of "congratulations you've won the lottery "(the ones from different countries) and "we need a representative from your country" emails. i'm pretty sure that comes from a contest i've entered. this is what i use my computer for, entering contests, (these aren't spam, these are scams)

what do you think?

Many of us have discussed the increase in these. They are driving me crazy, but I cannot link them to anything except someone selling a mailing list. It could be from anywhere. I know I missed a few optouts on 3rd party e-mails and I bet one of these sold the list or something. Although I have thought out my response to these e-mails, since I know not to respond, I don't, but, just once, I would love to send out one that would have them chasing their tails for days! :smt005

I spent the better part of an hour yesterday unsubcribing to stuff. :smt009 I made the mistake when I first started doing this of using the email addy thru my isp. Its the only one I have for friends,family and sweepstakes and it gets loaded with email on a daily basis. What can I do about it now. If I get a new email and start entering with that wont the sponsors think im entering with two different email addys? I dont want to get DQ but I have got to do something.

as long as you follow the rules, not a problem they don't want to find out that you entered the sweep with multiple e-mail addy's trying to get more entries.

You may have some problem on your current dailies when it tells you you are already a registered user. You will need to go in and correct your e-mail addy in your profile. Other than that, you will be fine. Good luck! I hope a change brings you bigger and better prizes! :smt001

NEVER EVER unsubscribe to anything UNLESS you subscribed - that's a spammers trick to confirm a live addy - same goes for responding!

As far as HOW your addy ended up on their list? Most likely from a site who said they'd share with 3d parties in their Privacy Policy.

SA vets the sweeps as far as rules (# of entries/who is eligible/etc) but it is up to EACH of us to read the fine print to determine if we want to give them our info.

Now, dealing with spam depends on your ISP - I have COX, and I log into my WEBMAIL and use their tools to block the spammers before I even open Outlook. Easy peasy. :smt003

Before I started sweeping (about 5 months now) I set up a "sacrificial" E-mail. As just about all providers allow more than one E-mail account, I set up one for personal use and one for sweeping, any on-line ordering, e-bay, ect. Try that, it keeps about 95% of the spam, and other unwanted E-mails out of the personal account. I keep the spam blocker at a lower point for the Sweeps account to allow a better chance for the wins to come in (still waitng for the wins to come in) :smt017 but I am enjoying it!

On PCH, the only way you would receive spam from their is if you did something with the checking and unchecking of boxes on various pages. Once you fill out the initial entry form and submit it, you should only be going to the end of each page and clicking on "continue" or "skip" without doing anything on those pages. You just keep going until you can go no further. I've been doing all the PCH sweeps for a long time now and never get any spam from them.

On the lottery scam emails, they aren't coming from the sweepstakes. People who don't even do sweepstakes are getting them also.
