Bitter win/lose

I got a phone call today telling me i won tickets to see Hootie and the Blowfish on Aug. 28 from a radio station in Manhattan. the tickets were for a theatre by my house, I live on Long Island. So, she tells me to come into Manhattan and pick up the tickets, so, I say I live no where's near Manhattan ( i assumed the tickets would be waiting for me at the box office that's why i entered the contest. Everytime i enter for concerts in the past they're either waiting for me at the box office, or they call me to verify my address and they'll mail them to me). It would cost me alot in gas and tolls to get into and out of Manhattan, and we hate driving in Manhattan.
so, I ask, can you mail me the tickets? she puts me on hold. comes back after 30 minutes, and says "yes, but we'll have to mail you a release form, you'll fill it out and mail it back to us, then we'll mail you the tickets." so, I start doing the math...by the time i get the form, mail it back to them and they mail me the tickets, I wouldn't get the tickets in time for tuesday.
so, I told her to give them to someone else, I wasn't going to deny someone else tickets ,when i knew i wouldn't receive them in time.
They called me, they know i'm the person that won, I shouldn't have to sign a release form for two tickets.
Uhgg! Bitter win/loss!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats to bad. I hope the next phone call is something ya can use. Its nice of you to think of another winner. good luck to ya.

That's too bad. Maybe next time you could have forms sent to you by email or fax and then fax them back.
