Contact step of winning a prize over 1000+

On those 1000+ dollar wins. Do they normally contact you through email or phone? Any win in general, what is the contact of choice? Since I get a lot of spam on my emails, I want to understand where you all have been getting the conformation message so I don't miss it when I get my 1000+ win! Thanks for reading this
 
I have gotten one 1000$+ win notice through e-mail, one by a notice from FedEx and once someone (luckily) left me a phone message. Definitely check your e-mail though cause they can come that way!

oh... all of these were from different prizes that only notified via a single method. So you gotta keep tabs on everything not to miss out!
