Contests requiring a video

Has anybody entered these and won anything? I haven't, but I noticed that my digital camera has limited movie filming ability, so I was thinking of making an attempt to enter these.

What I find funny is that most sweeps like that give away a video camera. well, If I can shoot a video and send it to ya I dont need a video camera. duh.

I have never entered any of these types of contests. I also find it ironic that the prizes are usually video cameras.

Not all video sweepstakes are for cameras; but, eventually, the one you have will die, and then you'll have a backup if you win one.

I haven't entered yet but, I am considering it. I think the camera prizes are ironic also. I have a digi that has video features but, since I don't have a memory card I am unsure how long of a video I can make. Will have to try it out and see!

They get posted in along with the other sweepstakes by frequency. Maybe, put "video" in a search to pull up current sweepstakes.

I posted one the other day and put the need for a video in the description. It would be helpful if the editors would remember to do this so we can search for them. A new category for creative type sweeps would be really good.

We might could put them in their own subject ~ since the requirements are so different. I will ask Ken and see! Pretty good idea though

Sweeps and Contests are usually different animals ( I just saw a sweeps that had Contest in the title, but all you had to do was put in your info  ) so a search for the word Contest should bring up any and all of these types of sweeps.

Putting *RQ'd: Video, or *RQ'd: Essay, etc. in the body of the listing could help too - I list them that way already. :headbang:

Creating a new category makes it confusing when we go to add a sweeps - for example:

A snail contest that requires an essay - ALL snails go into the snail category.

Anymore, MOST have 2 entry points - 1 for the Sweeps & 1 for the Contest

Ultimately, it's up to Ken - this is just my opinion :sunny:

I just won a huge del monte one and I used a video from my kodak 4.0 mp digital camera. good luck

This is what I have, almost, a HP 4.0 mp. Did you work it up as just something to enter, or was it a true work of art?

it was neither, it was just a video of my daughter. I dont do these video contest often, this actually was my first and only, but, the pool on entrants is SMALL usually. It also depends on whether its a voting contest or whether they are judged. If it is an independant judging usually there are some really skilled "artists" at work, a voting contest is normally sweepers. good luck!

Just a thought, would it be possible to put a little visual, like a star or asterisk, to indicate that there is something extra required. This way, there would not be a separate category, but there would be a cue. Then it would be the individual's responsibility to look further.
