So yesterday around 3:30 I got a call from an out of state number. I've been sweeping like a mad man all month so I got super excited. I answered it and it was someone from BassMaster where I entered a sweeps to win a boat. I started sweating like crazy!!!! I was like Oh man I just totally won a boat..NOT!!! He said "they hand selected a group of entrants" to offer a promotion which involved me spending a couple hundred dollars. WHAT-A-BUMMER! Soo, about an hour later I was listening to my favorite local radio station and he said they were giving away tickets for the Redbull Rally Car racing in Daytona Beach (which is about 45 mins away from me) and gave out the number to call. I called about 10 times, busy signal over and over. The last time I was going to try, it went through and he answered, I won the tickets!!! I feel as though my energy from thinking I won the boat, created me winning the tickets! Yay! :) LOL. Just had to share! Plus I thought It was really crappy of that company to call and make me think I won..LOL!

Congrats on the Tickets! Bummer about Bassmaster. I totally avoid any Bassmaster sweeps for this same reason. It never fails, every time I enter, I get the phone calls from them!

Sorry, I know the feeling---I got the same call from them about 2 weeks ago.
They get the info on the entry form and then call people to only benefit themselves.
I asked them not to ever call me again---unless I really have a win from them.
I will avoid their sweeps from now on no matter how fabulous it looks.
So BAD of them to call people like that.

I'm entering a sweeps from them too, a couple I think but I won't answer calls from them until the sweeps are over. I guess the companies have to make money somehow and calling must work for them if they keep doing it. I don't recall ever having read anything bad about their interactions with the people they call when I've checked on the spam caller lists like 1800notes. I think I've read that they will take you off the list if you want them to. Their privacy policy basically says they may use your personally identifiable information to offer you stuff. Sorry about the boat disappointment but Congratulations on the tickets!!!!
