Do sweepstakes look at whos name is registered for the email used to enter?

I am fairly new to sweeping. I realized yesterday that I have been using one of my sons email accounts for the last few months on contest that he gave me. Though the isp is in my name, I changed the information to my name and outgoing mail is now in my name. I just made a new email yesterday registered to me. As I now know even with me updating yahoos email into my name it is still registered to my son. So all future sweepstakes will be to this new email. My question is for these all sweeps that I have been entering the last few months. Will I still have any chance of winning anything or is that a automatic DQ? Thanks for this great site you guys have been wonderful.

I guess I worded that funny. What I wanted to say do they check who the email is registered to or do they mostly go by what information you provided address, phone number, etc etc?

They check to make sure that only the number of entries allowed "per person" (1x, daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) stated in the rules are coming from that particular email address. You can't use the same email address for someone else to enter.

Some rules state that you must be the registered user of the email address, but I have always thought that this was only important in case there was a dispute over who the winner really is. ie: if your son would say " Hey, that email address is registered to me so that great prize you just won really belongs to me". (but I could be wrong on that, just my thoughts). Actually, I think my hubby would be considered the registered user of my email account because I use an account thru our ISP and it is his name that the bill comes in.
