I have been on the phone all morning trying to get an appt that isnt two months from now. I called a dozen different doctors. Finally, I got a appt for tomorrow. Why would I need a appt two months from now? I quess they dont want to see sick people. If Im calling for an appt it means I dont feel good NOW! I dont understand it. oh, And whats up with all the questions. They want everything but your first born. one asked me if I was married. What difference does that make. you only see single people? Its stupid. I will go, wait for an hour or so to see the doc, probably get no answers and be charged a not so small amount of money for the pleasure. But I quess thats what I gotta do. I havent seen a doc for myself in about 4 yrs. I dont like them. I have butted heads with a couple over the kids care. so I avoid them if possible. Dont have any choice. My husband is on my case about going. Wasnt it easier long ago to just call and get in? Its like they only want to do preventive care. no sick people.

Went thru this same thing last year and my Gyno doc made the appointment to see this other doctor it was 3 months before they could see me. Sent all my lab work and CT scan to this new doctor and then when I finally make it to this new doctor he said I have no idea what is wrong with you and the only thing I can tell you is to make an appointment with a gyno or go home and be glad you don't have cancer or any other major disease that will kill you.

I was like you dumb a$$ have you looked at anything that was sent to you because my gyno was the one who sent me to you so why make an appointment with her again. Needless to say I told him I refused to pay him for nothing and I didn't pay. :sunny: :headbang:

thats awful. I hate going. I really dont like the ones that think because they have a degree and you dont that you are stupid. I may not have a degree but I do read and I have three children. Im not stupid. Atleast when it comes to the kids health. I got into a huge argument with a doc once over my son. It got pretty ugly.

Yea, I had to make my annual appt. To the G doctor. But When my appt came around, I didn't have enough money. So I kept putting it off. Then when I did have the money, they couldn't get me in. ugh. lol. So now my appt is finally coming back around, it is next week. And I only have half what I need.

I don't have insurance, so basically my bill is $65-80 for the visit. Then $65 for labwork. But at least its only once a year.

Sorry you are not feeling well. I hope it is nothing serious. I know my mother recently moved and it took her 8 months to get a new patient appointment. That is just crazy. He now has her running around to all kinds of tests and appointments.

Feel better!

I go in for my next round of testing tomorrow morning (everyone keep your fingers crossed) and will know something on Monday of next week. They are only taking about 8-9 vials of blood this time! I am just hoping and praying that my kidneys are doing what they are suppose to now.

Everytime this kidney doctor comes in the room with me it cost $500.00. Insurance pays all but $30.00 so I'm not going to complain much!!

I've done scheduled my OB/GYN appointment for next year! I know that if I don't do it when I come out, I won't do it at all :nono:

Well I am a nurse. LOL Things have definintely changed in the last 10 years. Doctors are really great people. Say hello to yours when you go in. They are the busiest peole I know and some of the best. Yes you should feel free to disagree with them and also argue. I argue with mine all the time I tell him no one knows my body as well as I do I've lived in it long enough. Sometimes Moms and family members have great intuition.
The doctors are frustrated with many people because they go in and say Doc my blood pressure is through the roof. Give me a pill for everything that is wrong with me. Then we refuse to change our diets lower our stress or stop bad habits give me a magic pill so I can continue my bad habits. LOL I know I take care of 25=30 people every day and some of them just refuse to take responsibility for themselves. Some of them are just unable to effect any change due age and genetics. To all of you going through illness my prayers and blessings to you. If you don't agree with your doctor find another one or let them have it. I have been mistreated and misdiagnosed in the last 2 years by at least 3 specialists. Oh well Illness is a chore. I am finally back on my feet and back at work although I lost 8 years of seniority due to bieng off so long. so now I am a new employee. Much cheaper that way. My company didn't have to let me come back but at least they did.
Good luck and remember your doctor is a human bieng too he is not a wizard although some of them act like they are.

:sunny: We are so lucky here. We have a wonderful clinic that is a a god sent for people without insurance. It may take a couple of weeks to get in the first time as a new client but after that you can make an appointment or just walk in. I get my annual womanly exam free including a pap and mammogram. Also my full range of blood labs only cost me $23! They are wonderful caring people that take time to listen and encourage you to improve your health. Thanks to their encouragement I have dropped my cholesterol from 328 in January to 208 in June, reduced by tryglycerides in half and am now below average risk in the hdl/ldl ratio. I couldn't have done it without their help. I am so thankful for their wonderful services that they are now at the top of my list for charitable contributions.

Well after everything I went thru last year I now refuse to go to a doctor. I now depend on the doctor above. :sunny:
