Entering Sweepstakes - Hand Entry/Robot/AutoFormat - Input Please

I would love some member input. I enter alot (or what I think is alot - 700-1000 a week) sweeps, by hand entry in my PT - if I wasn't the fast typist I was, I wouldn't be able to do even this.

I know that some people use a 'robot' which many sweeps discourage and I've also read feedback online that members who use robots haven't had much success with them.

On this forum there was mention of a program (I forget the name at the moment) that completes your info quickly on each entry - does this actually work? I'm a bit confused by this program and haven't looked into it.

I would appreciate any feedback or guidance you may have; if you prefer your response stay private - send me a message through my profile.

Thank you!

I hand typed for years, and finally started using Google autofill. Eventually, I switched to the free version of Roboform 'cause it's better. Both will fill out the entry forms for you with one click. You'll need to proof read, as sometimes the entry form is missing a few items, or filled out incorrectly. These services are form fillers, and do not dq you.

There are pay services (Google sweepstakes entry services) which will enter you in in thousands of sweeps. I don't use 'em. Your correct, in that many sweeps (but not all) prohibit the use of such entry services in the rules.

:sunny: I have used Roboform for years and have won my fair share of prizes. If I had to go back to typing all my info in on all the sweeps, I probably wouldn't keep doing them. It's a real time saver and allows me to enter hundreds of sweeps each day.

I started using Google Chrome as my browser a few years ago. It has a pretty good auto-fill on it, but you still need to double check and make sure it's filled everything out alright. I used Roboform years ago when I was using IE as my browser, but I've not used it since switching to Chrome.

Roboform

It's a form filler, nothing more. Most sponsors get that and don't consider robo "automatic entry" - they are referring to "bots" or programs that enter FOR you.

lwaxana:

A "bot" is an automated program that can be used for manipulating numerous email addresses, often for purposes of fraud. Sometimes cheaters write scripts that enter contests multiple times using many different email addresses for one person. The existence of bots is one reason why so many sweepstakes sites use "Captcha" code (words, letters, or numbers that you have to type in), so that they can make it difficult for non-humans to enter.

However, some do say it is a macro, and therefore not allowed. Every person has to make the decision for themselves on whether or not to use Robo.

Amy -

Thanks for the input you provided as well - I see so many helpful comments on the forum from you.

I have owned/operated/operate different forums over the past years and I know how challenging or frustrating it can be sometimes. Basically, it's alot of work, sometimes with little return. What the longterm members here provide and from Ken, etc. is fantastic. I'm very glad to be an active part of this community.

I haven't yet fully figured all of the tools on this site yet and how they work, but once I do - I'll be advancing 'up.'

Thanks again,

Cory
