 Hi ya guys took a bit of a long break of sweeping due to not winning much of anything but now I'm kind of easing my way back into it slowly.
I received a call this afternoon from a live Walmart representative which had a very thick foreign accent and they told me I won a 100 dollar gift card and they gave me a UPS I guess verification # which I jotted down.
But then something fishy alerted me that this could be a scam and I am wondering what you folks think of it???
This live reprsentative told me there was a $1.95 shipping & handling fee to send me the walmart gift card
and then said that fee would be waived since I won the card.
Here comes the tricky part the live representative explained to me that they needed my 14 digit debit bank card # for verification purposes of sorts (of which I have no clue why they needed it) so I politely declined the gift card and politely hung up on this heavy accented rep who had a horrifc time repeating words to me that I just did not understand any of. And rather than sit there and talk back and forth for another 15 mins of not understanding why they need my bank debit card # for verification purposes or not I just didn't think it was worth a gift card to just hand out my debit bank card # out all willy nilly to any old person  Anyway the rep called back again and I repeated that I refuse to give out my private bank card #'s to anyone but they still didn'tunderstand why I refuse a gift card and just giving them MY private info which I refused to and then hung up again.
Is it normal practice when one wins gift cards (which I realize varies from sweepstakes to sweepstakes) to ask for private debit bank card #'s? Why do they need this type of information in the first place anyway? Any thoughts guys???
I'm still trying to remember at this point if I won this gift card from one of those computer surveys I did that one finds at the end of those store receipts or if I entered another type of sweepstakes where a Walmart gift card was one of the prizes.....
Thank you guys for any replies you have towards my question.
