Gift cards instead of check

In the sweepstakes rules I was supposed to get a check for $1,900.00 as part of a prize I won. Instead of sending me a check, they are sending me prepaid visa gift cards.
 
It's 6 pm Wednesday and I still haven't received the visa cards to spend on my trip, and I am supposed to leave at 6 am in the morning. I am getting very worried about being able to go on the trip at all. This was my first big win and it doesn't look like I am going to get it. But thank you for your reply, I will look the info you gave me up.
 
:sunny: Goodness gravy! They sure are cutting it close! Did they say you would have the cards before you left? There have been times when I also got cards on trips, and they were given to me at my hotel check in. They should have definitely filled you in better than they have. Hope you get to go and have a great time!
 
I did receive the cards, but there's no money loaded on them. My Travel Agent said they would not be loaded until 24 hours after I received them. I just don't know what to do. This has really been a lesson learned. I actually thought I would be able to spend the prize money to go on my trip, but that is not how it is.
 
:cussing: Boy, someone really dropped the ball on this one. So sorry your first trip win experience has caused you so much irritation and worry.
 
With the help of a lot of people I have finally made it to New York! Yea!!! Just wanted to say Thank you to Subway, e-Prize/Prizelogic, Jean Daniel @ Travel By Design who really went above and beyond the call of duty, and Sweepstakes Advantage who without them I would have never entered sweepstakes. The Intercontinental Hotel is just Superb! Heading to Jay-Z concert tomorrow night for a meet and greet, and shopping!
