Glory Be To God

Glory be to God for dappled things --

For skies of couple-colour as a brinded cow;

For rose-moles all in stipple upon trout that swim;

Fresh-firecoal chestnut-falls; finches' wings;

Landscape plotted and pieced -- fold, fallow, and plough;

And all trades, their gear and tackle and trim.

All things counter, original, spare, strange;

Whatever is fickle, freckled (who knows how?)

With swift, slow; sweet sour; adazzle, dim;

He fathers-forth whose beauty is past change: PRAISE HIM!

OMG, pass whatever :laughing:

I think of Carey as an outlaw with much attitude and a soul to be reckoned with :laughing: Never in a million years would I think of him as a guy who talks about rainbows and skies the color of a brinded cow :booty"

:scratch: Are you all confused yet? I happened upon some olp poetry and such that I'd saved for over 20 years. I thought I would share some of these items. As for the religious stuff, I used to be a devout Christian (raised Southern Baptist). I was saved as a teenager (once saved always saved), but became disillusioned with Christianity...as I came out as a gay person, and found that my religion had no place for people like me.

I still like to think myself spiritual in nature. And, I do miss some of the trappings and traditions of Christianity. And yes, I'm a rebel as well...I live my life as I choose, and not how others would dictate I should live.

All things dull and ugly,
All creatures short and squat,
All things rude and nasty,
The Lord God made the lot.
Each little snake that poisons,
Each little wasp that stings,
He made their brutish venom,
He made their horrid wings.
All things sick and cancerous,
All evil great and small,
All things foul and dangerous,
The Lord God made them all.
Each nasty little hornet,
Each beastly little squid,
Who made the spikey urchin,
Who made the sharks, He did.
All things scabbed and ulcerous,
All pox both great and small,
Putrid, foul and gangrenous,
The Lord God made them all.
AMEN.
