Good-bye Catalogs

The number of mail order catalogs I've been getting seems to have increased immensely lately. In some cases, it is related to entering sweeps for the companies. In other cases, its because I bought from the company. If you're looking to decrease the junk mail and/or save the planet, I ran across the web site http://www.catalogchoice.org/ which helps you in canceling the catalogs for good. I know you can contact the individual companies to do that, but they offer a central place to cancel them. Give it a try...

Just make sure that you just don't cancel out ones that require you to receive them to stay entered in a sweepstakes--if you can remember which ones they are!! :crazytongue:
 
Hmmm.... didn't even think of that.... Typically, it is get emails from them, though, not catalogs, so I hope I didn't disqualify myself from sweeps... Some of them, I'm just never going to buy from....
 
There have been some sweeps that require you pick a communications from them to be entered. Sometimes, catalog is one of the choices and sometimes it's just a choice between different catalogs.
 
Oh, and another thing. Like when I was doing the Chadwick sweepstakes, it reminded me that I get the catalog too. I never requested it, but it started showing up like others when I started entering their sweepstakes. So, it could also be in the rules that they reserve the right to send you whatever communication they want for entering their sweepstakes.
