Good deal on Rome

There is a difference between "cheap" and "broke"

   thin grey line there!

Actually, nobody is ever so "broke" that they can't do something if they really put their minds to it. For example:

  • [li]The little blue-hair gran'ma who has no heat turned on in the house cause she can't afford it ... but never misses bingo on Wed. and Fri. nights down at Grange Hall at $100 a pop.[/li]
[li]The un-employed next door neighbor you see down at the Food Bank twice a week ... but is down at the Legion Club every night from 4 til closing sucking down bourbon.[/li]
[li]The son-in-law who can't afford to visit for the holidays because times are tough ... but always has a big fat doobie ready to fire up everytime you see him.[/li]
[li]And, of course, Bubba who has never worked a day in his life ... but has 3 brand new Ford F250's and a new bass boat parked outside his trailer house. [/li]

... just for example.

But it is reality. People find the money for what they really want.

I could say: "If they really are that broke they should quit sweeping, get their cellulited rumps off the computer chair and find a job", but it's good that I would never say a thing like that, so I won't.

Nah, never would say that. Nah.

Well maybe if you posted one that goes to a destination I am interested in, I would show more enthusiasm. But, as yet, you have failed to pique my curiosity! :headbang:

I want to go to Alaska! Get cracking on that one!

Speak! oh Great One!

Enlighten your humble servant!

Nearest Airport?
Preferred travel window? Spring? Summer? Fall? Winter ... we don't go there!
Length of vacation? 3 Days? A week? Until Nome thaws out?
Number of People: Stag? Romantic Twosome? The whole walrus herd?

Transportation: Car? Boat? Choo-Choo train? Plane? U-Haul? Dog Sled?
Accomodations: Cheap as dirt? Igloo? Clean? The Marriot? The Taj Mahal? Your own personal Eskimo boy?
Entertainment: Nature? Arts? Dining & Dancing? Slumming at a crab fisherman's bar?
Dining: Vege? WacDonalds? Gourmet? Trap-your-own? Whale blubber?

No Coon Dogs Allowed!

Inquiring Minds Want to Know!

But they are my kids! :headbang:

OK, any New England airport or Albany, but I would prefer Hartford. It would be hubby and I going. I would like a combo land/sea trip. Length of trip is anything over a week. I would love to go over the summer as I would like to experience the midnight sun!

I prefer the Marriott, Hubby is not as particular! Of course, if I get an eskimo boy, he will want an eskimo girl, so I think we will have to pass on that option.  Accomodations have to be clean. Wolfie doesn't do igloo living!

DID YOU SAY DOG SLED? I think not. That is for common dogs!

I want to experience Alaska. I want to visit villages, tourist traps, glaciers and see polar bears! I want the full experience without the camping! I would even work a crab boat!

Dining is not important. We can live on cheap or go gourmet. As long as it tastes edible, we are good to go.

Entertainment is not a huge issue. We want to visit Alaska and its culture. Crab fisherman bars are cool!

Now, get to work!

Thanks! :sunny:

Do we know how Holland America is rated for their Chocolate Sweepstakes & Giveaways?

I shall talk to hubby. And, check to see the average temperatures for May. I don't mind the cold, hubby, not so fond of it!

Thanks LB!

This is all hand picked by yours truely ... ie not a tour, not a package. If you are interested I will send you the screen shots I did so you can reproduce it yourself. All the hard work's been done. One click of a button and I could be going. :crazytongue:

Cruises only happen from May to September. After the first of June prices go up dramatically (50%). In July and August they grow Misquitos the size of hummingbirds up there! Be aware that the weather is never "warm", unless you live there. Yet one won't freeze to death at the end of May 45L/60H. June, July, and August are the rainy season also!
