I have no idea what this means. I 'won" 500 entries and for that they want my passport and drivers license?

So this is for the new movie Identity Thief by Universal, it looks like. Do you remember entering a sweeps for this? If so, it could be legit. But 500 entries? For what? Hope someone can help you on this! Good luck! :)
 
Hi...Make sure that you did, in fact, enter this promotion. They are asking for a DL, OR other ID when you fill out the affy which you will have time to read and decide when you get it. I agree that this is kind of a strange one, so you should call them and get more info. Are the 500 entries worth the stress and trouble?
 
As beedyr said, this is on the New Sweeps, in fact it was listed at SA today, so did you just enter and happen to be today's daily winner? I copied the listing and marked the 500 bonus entries in bold.

So the 500 extra entries that we won, are extra entries to win any of the prizes. I get that.. but an affy for the 500 entries?! :S

I also won the 500 entry, I emailed them back and ask for somw help with this and I received this back

I Just played this instant win and received the same email. I don't understand why we need to provide our drivers license either. I sent a request for an answer, if I find anything out I'll post it here.
 
I'm grateful for this thread. I won 500 entries today too and got the same email notification. I think I'm going to pass on this one...too much information to give...I like to Touch my Prizes!!! But Good Luck to Everyone! I hope its legit and I hope someone here wins the Grand Prize!!!

For the instant win, rules say,

"...you will receive a notification via email of the prize you’ve won. Follow the prompts you’ll receive to claim your prize. To receive the prize, reply back with your name, street address (PO boxes not accepted), city, state, zip code, date of birth and phone number."

So maybe they had a problem with the email they sent, since the sweeps just started, and luckyrabbit's email also indicates this.

Going back to noellesms' original post - it is always good to ask before providing personal information, and the responses were excellent - Did you enter? Was it listed at SA, or is it in your My Sweeps? Is there a contact person, rules, or some way to verify that the email/sweeps is legit?
 
I won 500 extra points on the Facebook sweep for Identity Thief and only had to click on the link at Smartify to accept the win....I never got an email asking for that kind of info. Sounds very strange to me.....but hope all works out for you.
 
Found out that you do not have to feel anything out. They are automatically added to your acct. They said the email was misleading and apologized. It is legit. The points are automatically added. The part about the affidavit was an erroneous error. Also everyone that answers correctly gets a prize. My guess is that the majority get the 500 free entries like we did.
 
I won this also if you get the trivia question right you win. I went to the page from the email nothing to till out there but on the smartify page it shows I have 550 entries in this sweep. So I am not going to worry about it.
