Has anyone out there had their e-mail account "hijacked" and if so what did you do about it? I awoke today to find an undeliverable e-mail in my Yahoo In-box to a contest host that I never sent. I immediately went to my Sent Folder and found the last 2 e-mails sent were from an outside source to EVERYONE in my Address Book using my name as the sender and trying to say that I recommended the electronics on the link in the e-mail www.buytv.biz (I DO NOT recommend clicking on this site as there could be viruses, etc.). I am FURIOUS at the hacker(s) who did this mostly because I have now probably been blacklisted as a spammer to all the e-mail contest hosts in my address book. God help the hacker(s) if I ever could lay my hands on them but, from their use of the english language in the e-mail, my guess is that they are operating from some sh*thole in Africa or Eastern Europe. Anyhow, the main thing I am trying to find out is how to immediatly stop this from happening again and making sure this hacker is locked out. I have e-mailed Yahoo with a fraud report but I have not heard back yet and I am anxious to do something. Is there anyone out there with experience in dealing with this particular scam and scum? I would greatly appreciate any advice you may have. I am tempted to go ahead and change the password on the account but I'm not sure if the hacker can see my every move, which would make changing my password futile, wouldn't it? I just don't have any experience dealing with these vermin to know how to proceed without making matters worse. PLEASE Advise. Thank-you.
