Have others had this "Good luck/Bad luck" occur to them?

I know we shouldn't enter contests with prizes we don't really want because it ruins the odds for those who want the prize, but what about sweeps with mixed prizes? Twice I entered sweeps with a trip to Florida as the main prize ( which I DO NOT want and would never go) and lots of smaller prizes I did want. Of course, in spite of the huge odds against me, I win Florida. Twice. I refused the trips and they were given to another, so someone got to go. Main point, is this a rare curse or have others had this happen to them?

I'm sure youre not the only one. A lot of my entries arent always for the grand prize, but one of the other prizes. I entered a Kelloggs sweeps some months back, hoping for the grand prize ( a trip to a race) or 2nd prize ( a flip type camera). What did I win? 1st prize, the weight loss system! :laughing:

:wave: victokirsh - I don't think it's that big an issue - it only happened to my DH once in 7 years - he was trying for the weekly and won the GP trip. He turned it down and they re-awarded it.

I screen sweeps for that very clause when the GP is a trip - if they DON'T re-award it/offer cash in lieu, I/we don't enter.

That it happened to you twice? Maybe you NEED to go to Fla.? :crazytongue: :laughing: :laughing: :laughing:

I have entered for Florida trips before, and it would be a long cross country trip from Southern CA, BUT I'm up for it! My fav part of Florida is the Gulf Coast... Naples specifically, BUT Miami is great too! Orlando with Disney doesn't float my boat since we have Disneyland here, and been there done that. Still! Sorry for your bad luck and I hope you win something you really really want!! :cheers:

I think it is still all good luck to have won anything! I have been entering sweeps for 3 years and have never won any grand or first,second or third prizes! my biggest win in 3 years was a WII on an instant win! Now that is what you call bad luck! I just keep plugging away and hoping some day I will win!
