Have you ever won anything in the "Expiring Sweepstakes" category?

I was just wondering if you're more likely to win if you enter in the beginning, middle, or end of a sweepstakes, or if it's just random. :) I want to enter ones that are ending soon since I'm not a fan of delayed gratification (though, who is?) but if it isn't worth it I'll stick to just the regular ones.
 
My ritual every morning is to go through the expiring sweeps for the day. I don't do any of the daily entries but do the 1 time ones. In Feb I won the Stoneberry "$250 Shopping Spree". That was the only prize given and I entered the last day. I have also won smaller prizes on the last day. So yes, go for it.
 
I enter (or not) from the New Sweeps listing, and have never even looked at the expiring sweep list since I joined SA.

If you enter a single entry sweep there is no advantage to entering at the beginning or the end - the odds are the same. You're at a distinct disadvantage for those sweeps that allow multiple entries (daily, instant, weekly etc.), as you will only have one entry when you could have had many more had you started entering from the New Sweeps listing. A daily entry sweep for 45 days would give you 45 entries rather than just the one you'd get from the expiring list. You should check the New Sweeps listing again the next day, so that you catch any late additions.
 
The when to enter? It really only matters for IW [instant win] promos since IW rules will [usually] have some variation of: "...random, computer generated times..." that you must be the first to enter during that time, to win from.

Also matters for promos that give away prizes before they end - DP/WP/MP {Daily/Weekly/Monthly Prize} type promos, where [usually] only entries during the designated EP {Entry Period} are eligible to win the designated DP/WP/MP's.

When I enter expiring sweeps I try to enter the day BEFORE they are to expire because not all promos expire at the same time/on the same time zone [although most promos do expire 11:59pm EST] and I found [depending on what time I was entering] some/many had already ceased accepting entries.

I have never won anything but after reading your comment i think i will now win a price at least.
