Help! Am I doing something wrong?

I think there is an arc to this hobby - we start out seeing all these possibilities to win, see people post wins {seemingly the same people winning all the time - the reality is that a lot don't post anything while others post everything :crazytongue:} so we get frustrated if we don't win right off the bat. OR - some win right off the bat & get frustrated when it doesn't always happen for them.

This process weeds out the dabblers from the hardcore hobbyists - I wonder what the stats are - how many quit after how long? My mom lasted a week & I was disappointed since I spent a whole day setting it up for her & explaining how easy it was to re-enter!!! :booty"

Those of us who realize we aren't "owed" anything - that it takes effort on our part and we need to be patient - we last :sunny:

I started sweeping last May. It was 2 or 3 months before I won anything. I found that as I learned how to enter and what to enter, my time paid off much better. Roboform is a tremendous help. I am still not using it exactly right but it has saved me so much time! You get better at this the more you do it. You learn to spot the entries that are likely to pay off. (Like ones that only run a few days) You learn to recognize the names of web sites so you know without reading the description what the prizes are likely to be. (Like Fresh Fiction is going to be a book and maybe an Amazon gift card). Practice makes perfect. The more you do this, the better you get at it. I won about $1000 in prizes last year. I have almost reached that this year in less than 3 months. If you are in this to become a millionaire, you are in for some frustration. But if you enjoy the people, the prizes, and don't mind the time you spend, you are going to have a great time.
Good luck to you!

I probably come close to that amount too, hundreds anyway and couldn't do it without the organization tools of SA. Most while having my morning coffee and answering emails. Then since I work from home, while I wait for students if I have time. Then a few more before I turn in at night. Everyday, unless I'm really busy then just do the daily prizes or bigger prizes. Fun hobby, it's a way to unwind.
My thought on it is, I spend as much time as my friend does on xbox live but get great stuff in the mail and has actually led to friendships and opportunities. Discovered some products I really like and in these tough times things I can really use.
I try to look at it this way, if I win a gift it was meant to be and grateful to be blessed. If I don't, be happy for the person it was meant for. Now I'm wishing you get something really special in the mail!!

Awww..you can't say stuff like that to me...I'm too sappy! lol No seriously, I ALMOST let myself get all teary eyed over that. It was very touching and I thank you very much!!!

1,000 a day??? HOLY COW! Please, could you give a few tips on how you accomplish that and about how many hours a day do you devote to sweeping?

Go to the computer help section of the forum. There are a couple of threads on Roboform about how to use it correctly.

I only timed it once when I was able to stay on the computer without leaving, and it took me about 3 1/2 hours at that time to go through my daily's plus the time to go through the newly posted sweepstakes from the day before. There is also typing involved on flash forms, captcha codes, etc., and I type 100+ words per minute.

My normal day, though, with my children and housework, is going back and forth throughout the day with the computer.

I guess I always assumed I WAS using roboform correctly...how interesting I will DEFINITELY do as you say and check it out. Thank you so much for your reply!!

lidardarkside has helped me so much because I have memory problems and you can trust her advise and she has told me many times when I make a booboo and I hope she forgives my poor memory.
Wish I lived next door to lidardarkside so she could show me how to properly use roboform. It took me a year to just do the thing with 9 passcards so I do not pay. Now I skip the passcards and just do the form filler. Can you believe I relearned to type entering contest manually for so many months when I first started I was too pooped to do the Christmas ones where all the fun ones are listed. :sunny:

I started online sweeping in 1998. There weren't nearly as many sweepstakes then as there are now. I started with 50 then 100 then 150. All were hand-typed, because Roboform didn't come out for another year. It took six months for me to win my first prize.

My sweepstakes philosophy is simple and works very well for me.

Use Roboform Pro and know how to use it correctly (most people don't).

Enter only for prizes you need, want, or can use.

Then enter those sweepstakes like daily's, weekly, monthly's, etc., diligently and consistently.

Most importantly, how much you win will depend on how much you enter. I enter somewhere around 1,000 sweepstakes per day, and the prizes are practically daily. That is, of course, is including small prizes; i.e. the past few days, I got a book, a dvd, and anti-aging serum. :)

Wow 1,000 a day. You are soooo good. You deserve to win!!! I would also like to know how often do you win? Also where do you find 1,000 sweeps to enter. Do you use other sweepstakes sites as well? What about sweeps that are snail mail only. Do you enter those as well? If yes how often do you win. Sorry for all the questions, just curious.
