This was in my spam folder. Im concerned because I didnt order anything using paypal. also, when I click on the link to dispuste it says its paypal but all of the links there go right back to the same page. Is the spam. I didnt send 47.85 anywhere. heres the emailDear PayPal Member,

if you have a paypal account never click on a link that is sent you type in the paypal website then check your account for any activity. this is probably a scam trying to get your e-mail addy to confirm your Identity to get money out of you!

Type in the URL yourself and check your PayPal account. The previous post is right about never clicking on suspicious PayPal links. Any PayPal links really. You're always better off typing in the URL and logging in directly. Once in, you can check your account to make sure all is well. If it turns out that this was an attempt to get your information (phishing) send a copy of the email to [email protected]. If you log in and see a problem with your account, report it to PayPal right away.

Thanks guys. I typed in paypal and checked my acct and everything is fine. man, some of these spam emails look real. Im glad I went with my gut and didnt put in any info. I will send them a copy of the email. thanks again. yall are always so helpful. :smt001

3M, I received an e-mail from ebay a few weeks ago telling me that my account had been compromised and they had disabled it until I contacted them. I forwarded it to Spoof, then I opened a new window and went to Ebay. Guess what, it was real. I was speechless. I really thought it was fake.

Moral, you cannot be too careful. You really can't tell what is real these days.

Glad you found out it was a fake.

:smt006 They are just trying to get your information.. Always go to the PayPal site and never click on a link in an email..I know!! Had to change my passwords etc!

Its a shame anytime ya go into you're email ya gotta be a amature detective. Some of this stuff looks so real. Thanks for the help

Whenever I get something from PayPal that seems suspicious, I forward it to [email protected]. They will let you know if it is real or not. This also alerts paypal to what scams are going on concerning them
