Yes I know HGTV gives you the option to take cash in lieu of the house. I don't know how many people can actually afford to keep these dream homes because of the upkeep and such. I always check the rules on the home giveaways to be sure a cash option exists. I think ( I could be wrong ) but one home giveaway maybe DIY or HGTV they didn't give a cash option in the rules. It was fairly recent 3 years or less.
