i pick up alot of tracking cookies and adware so forth from visiting websites while entering contests. i have spyware, malware and all kinds of bug removal software, but is there anything i can do to set my computer so they can't get in there to start with. it slows down my computer, when i remove all the tracking cookies and other bugs the computer runs faster and then i enter the contests and pick them up again and it runs slower again. it's the same bugs all the time. they're not viruses , it's just annoying to have to constantly run the spyware software all the time, i'm removing the same stuff all the time. thanks.

For MS IE, you can adjust your cookie settings @ Tools, Internet Options. At the top, click on Privacy settings, and make your adjustments. Some sweeps will not load for you unless you accept cookies from them. I find it easiest just to clear everything after each browsing session. Tools, Internet Options, General tab, click on delete. Select those you wish deleted and click on the delete tab. For me, this is quicker than having Norton do it in a scan.
