I think i am ready to give up

Not sure why i decided to post about it, But i think my sweepstakes days are coming to an end.

I get so tired of entering, even with roboform and a superfast net connection.

It seems i enter sooooo much but don`t really win. I dont expect to win everything but when entering 300 to 700 sweeps a day..every day it does not seem to be worth the effort when i dont win even a moderate prize. Hate to sound like a gloom but...

I had fun at first and that was about 11 years ago when i started but its become monotonous now.

Although i entered to win, I did take note of sponsors and the products and did try lots of new stuff and was ALWAYS ALWAYS !! appreciative of a win. and ALWAYS thankful for sponsors who make sweeps possible even when i didnt win!

In 11 years i estimate i won about $9000 worth of stuff. Not a bad sum except when you add up the time involved...It comes out to being less than extremely meager. That wouldnt matter if it was fun, but it isnt fun entering sweeps, Its fun winning.

I think what kept me going was the allure of hitting the big one. Like a car or something like that but hard as i tried, was not to be. I think i grew tired probably 5 years in but went this far on hoping.

I have lots of time on hand too, but find my back and neck aches even with different chairs and positioning.

Maybe i need a really long break but its been hard to snap the addiction. I say i`ll take a week off and i keep entering. But really dont have the wins to keep me enthused.

Sweepers anonymous? seriously though, I think its time to go :(

Take a break for sure.. I get like that. I go to do my dailies and is like... groan. I sooo dont want to do these. Taking a break for a while sounds like a good idea. The sweeps arent going anywhere.

Just curious but are you only entering for really big prizes, big sweeps that everyone else is entering? It can be hard when you enter and enter and dont seem to win.. How are you doing on the instants?

I hope you feel better after taking a break and come back.

Well, Zen, I have only been at it for about a year so I cannot relate to all your years of entering. I have not won anything big either but it does not get me down. It gets frustrating sometimes to see everyone else winning but me, but that quickly passes and I never really lose hope. I did not start out with big expectations so just about any win is really exciting for me.
It does seem as though you need a break or need to enter less. I do not do anywhere near 700 a day. I may do 100-200 a day if I have the time and energy. The entering does not bother me as I use it as my daily relaxation therapy. I know there are other things I probably could be doing but I actually enjoy looking through the sweeps and forum and see what is going on out there. These members are becoming like a second family to me. They are always willing to offer support too when it is needed.
Sorry to hear you are burned out. If you choose not to continue, I hope you find something meaningful to you to spend your time on. Just remember, we are always here if you care to vent, whine, or :cussing:.
Good luck to you.

Sometimes I get a little frustrated but then I remind myself there's always more sweeps to enter and that helps. :)

But I think sometimes we need a break.

Thanks to both of you for your replies. Very kind of you and yes i guess its a break that i need. I do enter small ones too. Actually all of my wins together have been a compilation of small wins. Maybe it is my expectation of wishing by now i won the big one. My idea was if and when i did i would definitely quit and give someone else a chance to win big.

Thanks again!

The sweeps to me seem to be slowing down, I would definetly take a break or I wouldnt
enter as many , maybe do the main ones and hope for the best ,always leave something on the back burner.

I was hoping to win something nice this month for my birthday but it is not working out
Oh well easy come when it comes..

Keep sweeping

I recently discovered I was a tad burnt out doing this. I took time off and didn't enter a thing. These last few days I've fouind myself getting back into it again but I haven't done my dailies(2 weeks and counting) and will continue to not do them

Take a break and come back. Be gone long enough to miss them again. It does help

Sometimes you have to take a break from this hobby, I know I do. I'll get burnt out too easily, I just do most of the instants when I take my breaks.

Good luck to you.

I'm not doing dailies as much , last year I did them faithfully and honestly, I hardly won any dailies. So, I just enter them once. I focus on the instants (that's about luck and timing). and the one time entries, dvds.
I don't get burnt over it. If i need to take some time off, I now take it off. I want to enjoy it, not grow to dislike it. It should be fun.

I know what your saying .It gets alittle monotonous.

I'm still waiting for the trip, money and car. And I still got my fingers crossed. I'm not giving up on them.

I have lots of time on hand too, but find my back and neck aches even with different chairs and positioning.

Have you checked with your eye doc to see if you may need computer glasses? Since you've been entering for 11 years I assume you are in middle age now. Eye strain can cause back and neck aches. I just had to get computer bifocals-upper lense for looking at the screen, bifocal so I can see the keyboard.
Not that you may not need to quit sweeping, just don't ignore a new symptom (pain is always a symptom). If you did not have pain before and you have pain now, talk to your doctor.

yeah I know how you feel. But I've only been doing this seriously for about 2 months (I know I am a newbie) but I am thinking of cutting out the dailies. They are taking the fun out of it and I haven't won anything. I am probably going to do iw and one times. I am figuring out fast what I like and what I don't. I suppose if I won something decent from dailies I start again lol it is an addiction.

I understand your frustration. Last year I didn't win anything till June and I was so disappointed. I stopped doing the daily sweeps and just did some IW when I felt like it and the one entry per person. It can get depressing when you spend all this time and energy on something and get nothing in return.

Hope you feel better soon. When your ready to sweep again, look at your local TV and radio stations websites. At lot of them have one entry person contests that you can enter on line. I won theater tickets, DVD's and even a big cash prize from them. I like that I can enter them on line and not have to try and be a certain caller.

Good Luck and Heres to hoping you feel better soon. Sweeping should be fun - not frustrating.

Just say no. Dont give up. I can assure you that you wont win if you don't enter. I have had a terribly dry spell for the past five to six months. I keep on plugging. And guess what, after months of NOTHING, this week I rec'd an email to let me know I won a thousand dollars cash and then three boxes just today on the front porch. Keep it up and the wins will come. It's so funny when I go to get things notarized people say "gosh your lucky". No such thing. I am bull headed and determines. I enter every day and sooner or later, my name will be pulled out of the hat.

I haven't entered anything in months...when I get on here I just get on here to gab with everyone right now. We are going through a house remodel and I just am not going to put more pressure on myself by entering right now ~ when it becomes a chore, back off and regroup! When I come back then I will be ready to run with it. I stopped doing dailies every day a long time ago ~ I do them like 1x only ~ it only takes one entry to win so why not...

Here's hoping that you will take a little break and come back and win the big one that you have been waiting for!!

I've been playing 4 years and no big wins either. Also, when I win a bit of cash, it always seems a new bill comes up to take it away.

I was thrilled to finally win $100. from the Sprite game only to spend $50 to buy sponges, bleach, masks, buckets, etc. cause I went into my basement and found mold growing on the ceiling...so this weekend my husband and I will be scrubbing the ceiling. I guess it's true, the Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh backeth.

I want to give up the dailies too but I'm scared. What if the one I don't play at that time on that day would have been the one...

I hope you do win once you are back from your break.

i only enter about a 150 sweeps a day.. that is alot for me, i went from around 70 to 150 (this is including the instants)... i have been getting burned out too, it's only been 2 years for me ... i haven't been entering the 1x entries unless the prize is something i haveeeee to have... i guess because the list is always sooo long... my fiance says he can tell when i take a break from sweeps, the wins stop rolling in and when i do enter, we get surprises.... i think i'm also been getting burned out lately because i feel like i'm on the pc alllllll day until i go to bed....
