I Wan’na Disney Parks Vacation From Alamo Sweepstakes winner - need advice

I was notified that I was the winner of the 'The 'I Wanna Disney Parks Vacation from Alamo' sweepstakes back on March 16th and was confirmed by Ventura Associates, the winner on the 29th. I was told at that time it would take about 'a couple of weeks' for Disney to reach out and contact the winner to coordinate the dates.

I wrote the fulfillment company back on April 15th advising I haven't heard from anyone at Disney yet on and was advised then, it could now take take a month?? In two days from now it will be a month and I still have yet to hear from anyone.

I've won a Disney associated prize through Ventura before (non trip) and it took an unusually long time to process, in addition to reading on another forum that they are known to be slow. My biggest problem (and I advised them of this) is that it's difficult for me to schedule time off with my employer and if I could just get 'an idea' of what dates would be available it would best help me get them pre-approved through work before they're no longer available.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to handle this?? I'm guessing the best way is to just be patient and I certainly don't want to pester the fulfillment company too much more, but it's got me nervous because of my situation.

Thanks in advance for any/all advice and suggestions

OI would try to contact Disney consumer relations department.Somewhere along the line you should eventually get referred to whom you need to speak. Good luck!! And congrats on a nice win!!

The Group must travel between March 2, 2016 and March 1, 2017 (on dates selected by Winner, subject to availability and approval by Sponsor), or the Prize will be forfeited in its entirety and, at Sponsor’s discretion, awarded to an alternate Winner at Sponsor’s sole discretion. No extensions will be granted.

So you have plenty of time before the dates lapse

Thing is, contacting the Sponsor will usually shoot you down the rabbit hole because they are rarely aware of promos, BUT, sometimes it is best if the JA {Ventura Associates} leave you hanging

I checked some past posts on a Disney forum I follow where we were all discussing the trip-a-day giveaway Disney did last year in January. The prize administrator for that one was also Ventura (emails came from sweepspro though). From winning notification to contact with actual Disney personnel seems to have been about three weeks, give or take a few days. I think I would definitely follow up on Monday with Ventura. What a great prize to win!

I hope everything works out for you and you get to enjoy your prize! Please post again when it all gets straightened out. We're all rooting for you!

I've won trips before where the promotion was handled or managed by Ventura associates and I had absolutely no problems. It pays to follow up and ask the right questions, but sometimes you just have to be patient. Keep in mind that there are real people working to fulfill your prize and that while they're working to fulfill your prize, they're also working to fulfill prizes to many other winners from many different contests and promotions. Make sure that you're aware of the rules and any time tables that may be included and follow up with those that initially contacted you about the win. It will all come together. Congrats and enjoy your trip!

That's a great win! I understand all your concerns. Many trips have such a short window between finding out you win, and having to take the trip, I can never even enter those because I can't go on such short notice. But hopefully with an end date of March 2017 you can get your trip all worked out. I had a recent experience where I didn't want to keep bugging the sweeps administrators and sponsor (Pepsi). The prize was a meet and greet with a certain football star, to be "sometime in March, probably." Finally, towards the end of March, I wrote again to explain I needed to plan my schedule - and they said they forgot to email me, and the meet and greet was over and done with! So much for being patient! (They did fulfill the prize with a meet and greet with a more famous football player, this month, and I had a great time, but it taught me a lesson about not wanting to "bother" the sponsor.)

But, had you bothered them, it probably wouldn't have worked out in the manner in which it did and you wouldn't have gotten to meet the more famous player. It would seem that by taking the more gentler approach, you received a greater prize.
