I will be in the hospital...

beginning this afternoon, and will remain there for 25 days, hopefully returning home before Thanksgiving. Therefore, I will not be around to post any witty or contentious comments during this time. Enjoy the silence while you can, for I WILL be back. Really. Just you wait and see.

Twenty five days? That is a long time...I'm trying to think of any procedure that takes twenty five days  These days they do not even keep you in that long for a liver transplant! (looks worried in Sticks direction)

Good luck sticks...we'll be thinking about you! Maybe someone can sneak a laptop in to you and you can let us know how you're doing

You take care...

Take care of yourself in there! I hope they spring you out sooner than you think!!

Tammy

Sticks, you'll be in my thoughts.

Don't take that 25 day thing to heart. My brother was just told 21 days and was home in 9. He had an incredibly dangerous procedure but his recovery was amazing.

I hope you are up and about just as quickly.

One Ton will be missing the challenge while you are gone. Get well soon my friend!

Agreed! I think doctors like to prepare you for the worst. You're one strong guy :) They have no idea how tough you are :sunny:

 Hi folks! I'm back. I was discharged Tuesday (yesterday). I'm SOO glad to be back home, after 25 days of hospital hell. :tongue2: I admitted myself to a specialty hospital to help heal lymphadema in my lower legs, as well as extremely high blood pressure, which resulted in light kidney damage. I'm now on three types of blood pressure medication to control my BP. While I was in the hospital, I was also diagnosed with atrial fibrilation, which is an irregular heartbeat. I have to take coumidin as a blood thinner, because the doctors said I have thick blood, which doesn't flow through the heart as easily, possibly causing blood clots. When it rains it pours....

I'll be seeing a cardiologist within a couple of weeks, and a kidney specialist (just to ensure I don't have anymore kidney damage) within five weeks.

The food was horrible, and the patients do not get a choice of foods. We get what they serve, or do without. Of course, the staff provides various snacks (puddings, jello, graham crackers, peanut butter, little tiny cans of soda and juices, etc.). I lost about 25 pounds while there...most of it in water (since I'm now on a diuretic pill). :crazytongue:

I had to stop on the way home and pick up my kitty cat, Patches. I was afraid she wouldn't know who I was after so long. The vet staff told me that Patches was quite vocal while I was gone, yowling and hissing at the staff (she has never hissed at me). But she is now resting on top of my work desk, just as content as she can be. I guess she forgave me. :)

Thanks for all the well wishes...I'm sure your thoughts helped me out while I was there.

Glad to hear you're doing better. Now go have something tasty to eat! And give Patches lots of cuddles.

I 'm glad to hear you are home for Thanksgiving. Sounds like you have some things to be thankful for and other things that need more prayer. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Hey sticks! So glad that you are back! If you need to talk about kidney issues I am I here. I will be seeing my kidney doctor forever, but he is a great doctor and I have to say that I would rather see him than my regular doctor any day of the week!

Make sure to get your pro-times done with that coumidin as well. You can't mess with that medicine!

I hope you are feeling better now! I know that my cat would still be sulking and it would take a couple of more days to forgive me...you are lucky there ~ lol! Now just stay healthy and have a wonderful Thanksgiving! It will be great having you back around!

Ah, my nemesis returns! I am sure the masses will buy your hospital story! We know the truth! You have been incarcerated in the chocolate dungeon for your attempts on One Ton's life! :fired:

Maybe next time you will think twice before messing with the Queen and her rabbit.

Glad you are back and doing better!

:headbang:

I agree with Wolfie.

The "I admitted myself to a specialty hospital" was probably into the 'Choco-holics Treatment Centers of America' for a 30 day treatment.

Where they use barbaric methods like dangling Carob-flavored treats before the in-patients as aversion therapy! Intervention is never pretty! But it is good that they provide you with a "dial-a-friend" number for support.

$10,000 worth of Carob goodies???? EEEEK!

I hear that the success rate is only 2.50% though.
