It Pays to Recheck Email

I was searching through my email for a second time. Almost missed a $500 Sierra Trading Post win that came in yesterday. My biggest win so far! I can't wait to go shopping.

I don't think that I would have gotten it if I missed the email. They said that I needed to verify my address, but I think they are sending an email code.
 
wow congratulations! I always worry that I will miss a win because I get so many emails that I typically just read the subject lines and occassionally read them quickly. Out of curiousity what did the subject line look like on this one?
 
That's great! Nice win! I always double check my incoming and spam email by searching the word "congratulations". I've found a couple missed wins in the past this way.

I missed one too this week that said -happy new year- in the subject line. saw it online and they resent it for me!
guess i'm going to have to read ALL my emails this year

I usually just read who it's from and the subject line and clear out my spam folder so I don't have too much clutter. I'll have to make sure and keep a close eye from now on.
 
The email heading was the contest name without any mention of winning. You should also search for either congrads or winner. If a sponsor puts congradulations in the heading it sometimes gets spammed. I always do the search because at first I was deleting my emails daily so I could see what I won, but I get so many emails now on a daily basis that it's near impossible to read all of them. What I do now is scan my emails from the last read and then do the search. I also do the google alert for my name on the web.
