I'm at work and trying to do something totally out of the norms of my job and expertise. Without getting into the details of what I"m trying to do I need some help coming up with a list of good kids books. For those of you who have kids I'd love to know what their favorite books are. If you could list the title (author if you know it), the age AND grade of child, and the gender. This would be extremely helpful for me. I've been paging through catelogs and on the internet for a good portion of the day and I'm so lost! :crazytongue:

Kailey is four, and her favorite books are the first reader books. Where they have short sentences, and some of the words have pictures instead of words. So she can read with me. They come in all different books, my little pony, dora, etc

My daughters are 11 and 14 and both like The Clique and Pretty Little Liars. Both are sets of several books. Both are for the tweens age group.

Weslandia by Paul Fleischman is my 5yr old sons fav book. He loves it.

The older two only really read graphic novels--naruto--masashi Kishimoto--they are 11 and 12. pretty much any and all Manga books. sorry I cant be more help.

Back when Ashelyn was in 1st grade we read the Junie B. Jones books ~ usually one or two a day. Even I enjoyed the humor and how Barbara Park grasp the fears of that age of child. They are priceless and something that I still won't get rid of!

Ashelyn then moved on to the Magic Treehouse books ~ wonderful series. Of course, the older series of Little House on the Prairie, and the Narnia series are also big favorites with her. We also love Walk two Moons by Sharon Creech (sp) ~she is a wonderful writer.

When I get a chance I will get in her room and get a better list for you ~ we live and breathe books at this house! The school librarian LOVES us ~ we spend a small fortune at a book fair!

I would recommend adding any all of Dr. Seuss' books. I grew up on these books, and the television shows, as a child...and they brought lots of fun and laughter for me.

I would also recommend classic older kids books such as Tom Sawyer/Huckaberry Finn, Little Britches, and the Calvin & .. Hobbes collection of cartoons. :crazytongue:
