Hi everybody, I am down about my prize, I won the Simpson's instant win, ticket to Universal Studio, I waited for months for this to show up. I wrote e-prize got an answer about one month ago that I would get it in the next 2 weeks. I never got it, so wrote them 3 days ago, they replied that they sent it Oct 2 by 1st class mail, and basically if I did not have it, they were sorry but to bad. I don't blame them, I know they can't replace things just because someone says they did not get it, but it is still a downer. Expertly right now when wins are so few. I am starting to win again, and I am sooo grateful for that, even small wins, it is still fun. But just wanted to whine abit about losing my prize. So here goes. WHINE WHINE WHINE. Well guess I feel better now. Have you ever lost a prize? What if anything did you do about it?

LOL I gotta win one before I lose one! Pickin's have been slim for me .... but I have a GREAT feeling about a sweeps just starting ... can feel it in my bones!

sorry about your loss

Re: lost my prize

I remember that happening on at least one of my prizes awhile ago. I didn't do anything. Mail gets lost all the time. You should see what I've seen laying around on the floors of a mailroom and the docks. So, it's no surprise. Did you check if your mailman has an eBay account! :crazytongue:

No I didn't check the mailman out, I guess if he wants it that bad he can have it, I will just win that much more.
 Don't hold your breath the way it goes sometimes, but that is life, up and down.

Re: lost my prize

A long time ago I won this toy game communicator thingie-that sucker did not show up and did not show up. Over a year later it appeared in a beat up box, from the lost mail center. The rechargeable battery had exploded, it was woefully outdated by this time.... My roommate finally cleaned all the battery acid off of it and got a new battery soldered in and we gave it to someone....but I always wondered why it went to "lost mail"-the address was correct, it had a return address...mail does the strangest things!

Re: lost my prize

Sorry about your loss....unfortunately I may have lost one too.

I won a ticket to Universal on July 21 in the Mummy game. I have yet to see the ticket. I just emailed eprize. Hopefully they haven't been sent out. Guess I won't be holding my breath waiting for them. We have annual passes but my in-laws will be here for Thanksgiving and I figured a free ticket would entice them to go. Oh, well. You win some, you lose some.

Re: lost my prize

This is the problem with sending something this small by USPS. USPS mail is more apt to get lost and mangled. The Universal ticket came in a regular business-size envelope. I think that a ticket worth $80 should be sent by at least Fedex, and ePrize isn't the only one sending prizes out by USPS. I can understand using USPS for small prizes like dvd's, etc., but this is up there in value where it should have been sent by Fedex.

i like UPS and Fedex more too EXCEPT when I move. I just moved yet again and I just shudder at the thought of missed prizes. I don't know who is moving into my old place (a rental) but I doubt they'd make the effort to contact me. My landlord was very nice and I'm sure if he ever sees any packages he'd call but chances are the new tenants will either take the package or toss it. I wish Ups and Fedex (and DHL) had forwarding services.

Re: lost my prize

I WON THE SAME CONTEST AND AFTER READING THIS , I WAS ALSO GOING TO EMAIL THEM ,
BUT GUESS WHAT ARRIVED TODAY IN THE MAIL , MY UNIVERSAL STUDIOS TICKET...
HOPE YOU GET YOURS
I WON MINE JULY 31ST AND RECIEVED ONLY ONE EMAIL CONFIRMING MY WIN !!

Re: lost my prize

I finally got my ticket today. I was so surprised! It was in a plain white envelope with a return address of just a street address and city, state zip. I thought it was junk until I opened it.

Re: lost my prize

They told me they mailed mine Oct. 2nd, knowing my luck I might have threw it away, although I am usually very careful, ex specially since I started sweeping. I know allot of prizes look like junk mail until you open it. I know on the Coke Sweepstakes cola sweeps that gave away $100 gift cards, when they came it looked like one of those pre-approved credit card offers. Sure glad I didn't throw that away. When sweeping it pays to open all mail. Oh well maybe I will win double some where else. thanks for all the kind words

Re: lost my prize

I'm so sorry to hear this. My husband won the same prize though and had never received it. We emailed them about 2 weeks ago or so and it arrived on our doorstep 2 days later after they replied though overnight DHL. I'm thinking that most of the winners never received the prize.

I hate to say it .... BUT .... it pays to open ALL your mail!

My landlady Judy had open heart surgery 2 years ago and was receiving lots of mail from the hospital, doctors, Medicare and her AARP Supplimental Insurance... She would just take them all and throw them all in a corner, since she KNEW that everything would be covered.

Well, one day, (just to be nosy) I opened up one of them (she was just gonna trash it anyways, SO? does that make it not snooping????) Well, to make a short story long (sic) it turned out that there was an rebate check for $1,200.00 in the envelope! (something to do with her ER room stay @ $120.00/day)

Yes! I did give it to her .... AFTER a couple of days!

Who knows what else she threw away!

CHECK YOUR MAIL!

:crazytongue:

Re: lost my prize

Hey Guess what, I got my ticket. It is really a funny thing, Turns out my hubby got the mail and he opened the ticket, thought it was for the movies and put it away. He did tell me we got another movie ticket in the mail, and I did not think much of it as I have several coming. Well tonight he was going through his wallet and said, gosh we can only use this movie ticket if we go to Florida, Well I kind of un ahh at him, then what he said sunk in, and I said what do you mean only Florida, He said, well it says Florida, I grabbed it and said, Goofy that is not a movie ticket it is my Universal ticket I have been looking every where for and asked you about. Well he had the decency to look sheepish, but then he got the giggles, and they are contagious, so we both just ended up laughing about it. Oh well all well that ends well. Sure am glad I was real nice to E-prize when I talked to them about it. Thanks God for keeping my mouth shut at the right time. lol

Re: lost my prize

Not trying to be mean or anything....but why WOULDN'T you open all your mail?? You never know what's inside there that could have personal information on it, such as your social security number.

It has nothing to do with sweeping, but more a matter a personal/financial safety. I can't imagine throwing something away and not knowing what it is.

 So happy to hear you had a happy ending. YIPPEE!!!
We never throw envelopes away without opening them, then they either get shredded or thrown away if there is no personal information on it. You can't be too careful with all the ID thieves out there.

I must have worded something I said wrong, because I do open all my mail, allot of junk mail, but I open it, even before I started sweeping because wanted to be sure what info it had if nothing else. I guess sometimes people get so much junk mail and think they know what it is , then just toss it, but I am way to nosy of a person not to open it all and see what is inside. lol

Perhaps I just misunderstood. It just kinda sounded like the only reason you open all your mail, is because of sweeping.

Glad you got the ticket though! Congrats. :headbang:

When you get as much mail as we sweepers get, a nice thing to invest in is an Automatic Letter Opener. We have one which cost about $30. Its like a can opener for letters. You can zip right through the junk mail :) literally.
