Need spam websites help

So I'm online, going to my favorite websites, every five or ten minutes I get a pop up, or an internet explorer website pops up, then about 10 of them pop up. It takes a while to get them off the screen. This is interferring with my online activities. I have aol. So I talked to a help person, they told me to download some kind of thing called AD Adware or Ad watch or something. I did that but didn't know what to do after that. I am totally clueless about this. Does anyone have any ideas how to stop this stuff?
 
if you have ad-aware se just click on the icon and let it load, make sure to click on check for updates after it checks for updates and loads click finish and click on scan now and check perform full system scan and click next after the scan select all critical items and delete them. AOL should have a pop up blocker built-in
 
Well I woke up today, and had a wierd message in my inbox, from a survey company, that said thanks for the response. I didnt send them an email. So then I went to my sent box, and there were like 20 emails sent from me. That said this crap

Call up your ISP immediately and tell them what happened. This happened with a bunch of accounts at our ISP too except one of those phony lottery email ones went out. Someone had hacked into a bunch of accounts through the ISP. You'll need to change your password.
 
I agree about trendmicro. It is the best. It clears things that other programs would not catch. My daughter had a worm on her computer and that cleared out all kinds of adware and spyware and they have a 30 day free trial. It is easy, easy to use, also. Good luck!
